718AP2 not only thinner topline but a much more compact look at address.  I really fell for them immediately and trackman backed it up.  It's not like they went with a spring-face design, so ballspeeds not up a ton; maybe 1-2mph, but I wasn't looking for distance gains, just a better trajectory and feel.  Definitely found it.  I didn't hit the 818's, just plugged in an Atmos and Even flow into my 816 and liked them both over my Speeder. . .

WOW, that's all I really wanted to hear. If they could just take the 716 and thin them up and clean up the look a bit but still have the forgiveness, and workabilty of the 716 (or even better than the 716 in a smaller looking head) I'd 110% all in. From the youtube reviews sounds like the 718 have improved feel and surprisingly a touch more forgivness (equal to the old 714 AP1).

I'm getting some browning on my 716's so I'm ready to upgrade. 818 looks good too. I've been playing 915H, did a Titleist Thursday and got better numbers with 816 H2, but overall, and comfort level from all lies the H1 would be a better fit. But hopefully I can get down to T's neck of the woods and demo them.

Anyways, I appreciate the response. And now back to T's WITB.

Good luck this week T. Hope you strike it well.

Oh where to begin... I'm not a mudder. It was a steady faucet from the first tee through most of the front 9. Rain gloves.. regular glove, no glove when putting, lift clean and place, no roll out, plugging etc. In other words, a true manure show. Fought a case of the "lefts" all day. Never had that issue before. Like...ever. should have played the 915D2 instead of the 917. Just didn't have enough practice time with it and wasn't dialed in enough. Hit maybe 4 fairways all day. 4 three putts. Wet greens. No consistency with green speeds. Uphill putts would run out on dry greens and would stop 10 foot short on wet ones... just such a mess. I shot 81. They had 4 WD's and one no card.. so a field of 49. They were taking top 19 and ties... i finished tied for 21st... 79 was the cut number. I just didnt have my best stuff at all today. Pretty bummed. Was looking forward to this qualifier for months and to shoot like i did makes me physically sick to my stomach. 2 birdies by some ungodly miracle. Some days you're the windshield, today I was the bug.

Damn....that sucks man. Sounds like miserable conditions, I hate playing in the rain too. Also fighting a foreign miss all day is tough. I know this is going to sound like a cliche but hopefully after a couple days you'll be able to pull something positive out this qualifier for the next qualifier/tourney your in.

We were pulling for ya today.

Sorry to hear the result but you should be proud of the way you battled.
To only miss the number by 2 probably makes it feel more frustrating but I'd say you've got some positives to take away given everything working against you!

Had 149 to the pin on 18 for my 2nd shot. looked at my caddy and said " i probably need to dunk this to make it". hit a perfect 9 iron. painted the flag on the way up.. painted the flag on the way down... landed only inches away from the cup and hopped a few feet past. missed the birdie putt coming back and tapped in for par... if that dunked, i was in. hate it when im right.

Thank you! I was playing in a benefit tournament at Green Mountain National Golf Club in Killington,VT. hole #7 was closest to the pin hole. 124yd par 3 on the score card. lasered it and it said 114yds. Downhill, downwind. 1st player in my group was 15' long and right of the pin. 2nd player stuck it in tight to about 3ft. 3rd player was 12' long and left of the pin. This prompted the #2 player to say "The only way you're getting closer than me is if you hole it". I set my ball down, grabbed my 55* SM6 vokey sand wedge and struck it absolutely perfect. The ball landed about 5' long left of the pin and spun back and to the right, hit the pin and dropped in! This was just the icing on the cake for the day though. We shot -17 to win by 5 shots, I won closest to the pin with the ace, and I won the long drive competition as well by over 20 yards, flying 2nd best in the air easily. It was definitely a great day on the course.

That's a great hole for an ACE; congrats!  GMNC is a great track; very helpful to have a yardage book first couple times around but I really dig it.  Great greens and views!
