718AP2 not only thinner topline but a much more compact look at address.  I really fell for them immediately and trackman backed it up.  It's not like they went with a spring-face design, so ballspeeds not up a ton; maybe 1-2mph, but I wasn't looking for distance gains, just a better trajectory and feel.  Definitely found it.  I didn't hit the 818's, just plugged in an Atmos and Even flow into my 816 and liked them both over my Speeder. . .

WOW, that's all I really wanted to hear. If they could just take the 716 and thin them up and clean up the look a bit but still have the forgiveness, and workabilty of the 716 (or even better than the 716 in a smaller looking head) I'd 110% all in. From the youtube reviews sounds like the 718 have improved feel and surprisingly a touch more forgivness (equal to the old 714 AP1).

I'm getting some browning on my 716's so I'm ready to upgrade. 818 looks good too. I've been playing 915H, did a Titleist Thursday and got better numbers with 816 H2, but overall, and comfort level from all lies the H1 would be a better fit. But hopefully I can get down to T's neck of the woods and demo them.

Anyways, I appreciate the response. And now back to T's WITB.

Good luck this week T. Hope you strike it well.

Oh where to begin... I'm not a mudder. It was a steady faucet from the first tee through most of the front 9. Rain gloves.. regular glove, no glove when putting, lift clean and place, no roll out, plugging etc. In other words, a true manure show. Fought a case of the "lefts" all day. Never had that issue before. Like...ever. should have played the 915D2 instead of the 917. Just didn't have enough practice time with it and wasn't dialed in enough. Hit maybe 4 fairways all day. 4 three putts. Wet greens. No consistency with green speeds. Uphill putts would run out on dry greens and would stop 10 foot short on wet ones... just such a mess. I shot 81. They had 4 WD's and one no card.. so a field of 49. They were taking top 19 and ties... i finished tied for 21st... 79 was the cut number. I just didnt have my best stuff at all today. Pretty bummed. Was looking forward to this qualifier for months and to shoot like i did makes me physically sick to my stomach. 2 birdies by some ungodly miracle. Some days you're the windshield, today I was the bug.

Damn....that sucks man. Sounds like miserable conditions, I hate playing in the rain too. Also fighting a foreign miss all day is tough. I know this is going to sound like a cliche but hopefully after a couple days you'll be able to pull something positive out this qualifier for the next qualifier/tourney your in.

We were pulling for ya today.

Sorry to hear the result but you should be proud of the way you battled.
To only miss the number by 2 probably makes it feel more frustrating but I'd say you've got some positives to take away given everything working against you!

Had 149 to the pin on 18 for my 2nd shot. looked at my caddy and said " i probably need to dunk this to make it". hit a perfect 9 iron. painted the flag on the way up.. painted the flag on the way down... landed only inches away from the cup and hopped a few feet past. missed the birdie putt coming back and tapped in for par... if that dunked, i was in. hate it when im right.

Thank you! I was playing in a benefit tournament at Green Mountain National Golf Club in Killington,VT. hole #7 was closest to the pin hole. 124yd par 3 on the score card. lasered it and it said 114yds. Downhill, downwind. 1st player in my group was 15' long and right of the pin. 2nd player stuck it in tight to about 3ft. 3rd player was 12' long and left of the pin. This prompted the #2 player to say "The only way you're getting closer than me is if you hole it". I set my ball down, grabbed my 55* SM6 vokey sand wedge and struck it absolutely perfect. The ball landed about 5' long left of the pin and spun back and to the right, hit the pin and dropped in! This was just the icing on the cake for the day though. We shot -17 to win by 5 shots, I won closest to the pin with the ace, and I won the long drive competition as well by over 20 yards, flying 2nd best in the air easily. It was definitely a great day on the course.

Mid winter golf bug has bit me. Picked up a 917F2 18* head off ebay to rotate into the bag between the 3hybrid and 2i. Scored a Project X HZRDUS Black 85x off the BST, and epoxied the adapter onto it this morning. Need to grab some grip tape  and put the new MCC+4 on. Also, I traded away my 50/55/60 Vokey SM6 wedges for a new Scotty Cameron 5.5m. Looking to grab a white midsize or jumbo Matador grip for that. Wedges will be replaced with a new set of SM7's once they are released.

Considering posting my 716 AP2's and 716CB's up for sale with a ton of other equipment to fund a new set of irons. Not sure it's worth the spending. Could just sell one of the sets with the various shafts and such I have laying around and put that towards a 2018 membership somewhere.

Masking tape and Grip tape acquired. Mineral spirits applied and new grip installed with 2 full extra wraps and an additional wrap under the bottom hand. Letting it all dry and will try to get some swings with it this week in the simulator. First time gripping a club myself and quite pleased with the results.

Not long had a 5.5m and really like it...bit more forgiving than a blade but better feedback than a non metal faced putter.

SM7's ordered and en route. Also just picked up a  Speeder 6.2TS X-flex to try in the driver. If it doesn't work, there's a 915D2 7.5* it can go in and hit the BST.

Changed things up a bit on the sm7's. I've played a 50/55/60 with TI S400's since the sm5's. I went 49/54/59 with the 49 having an x100 and the 54/59 having the s400 this time around. Trying to gain back a little bit of full swing yardage by going slightly stronger lofts while maintaining similar characteristics.  Also had been playing standard length, These will be 1/4" longer.

What finish and grinds in your SM7's?  I'm going to order them up as soon as I can get outside and mess around with all of the grinds on grass.  I'm interested in the D grind.

ended up ordering a new  913D2 8.5* with a 46" Aldila RIP a60 shaft. was getting consistent ~280 carry, 295 overall with this club with a 45" shaft. 46" will be just silly. cant wait til it comes in in a couple weeks!

Interesting....how do you know 280 carry? They don't usually use launch monitoring devices there.

you go black onyx ti shafts or regular chrome?  I'm hooked on the black onyx even though they chip too easily.

They have a flightscope there and will pull it out upon request. I have since been put on trackman at Titleist's Manchester Lane facility and have verified my numbers.

As far as the shafts, just went with the regular tour issue X100 and S400. Considered going Black onyx, but wanted to stay uniform to my normal shafts.

Damn, how awesome is Manchester Lane? It's like Disney Land golfers, hope to get back some day.

So Exit8 has a Flightscope on premises for people to use on a daily basis? I'm trying to pick up 2, 818H1 hybrids a 21* and either a 23* in B1 (or Fade weighting), or 25* in D1 or C1 (or fade weighting). I wish they just made the same lofts they used to and it'd be a much easier choice and I'd go 24*. Do you know if I need to make an appointment or is it possible to show up?

Interested to hear your thought on the SM7's. Like Togatown the D grind sparks my interest a bit.

If you go and ask to work with Rob, and tell him you'd like to work on fitting up some hybrids, he's probably the best one there for that. I would definitely wait until it's warmer out however.

Yes Discount Dan's is tough to beat. When I ordered my 718 AP2's they were quite a bit cheaper than everywhere I looked. It was the 1st thing I ordered from them and I plan to order from them again, hopefully the 818H1's. I actually tried emailing them yesterday for a quote but for some reason it wouldn't let send the email through Yahoo which was weird. I'm going to try again tonight.

Might be a dumb question but Exit8 has the 818 line and fitting cart right, at least the stock offering shafts?

SM7's are here. Have yet to even take the plastic off of them. Also picked up a driver shaft to test off the BST. Motore' Speeder VC 6.2 TS X-flex. see how it stacks up against the HZRDUS Black.  Now waiting to hear back on a price quote from Discount Dans on the 818H2 19*. Looking at ordering it with a Tensei White 90 TX. goodies shall be flowing here shortly.
