I'd say stamkos is the best shooter.  As for Zetterburg, Gretzky just recently said he was the best swedish player the NHL has ever had.  For overrated, I'd lean Kovalchuk. Amazing skill but man has he been lazy. especially early in his career.

What the? He's not even the best Swede to play for Detroit. Which Gretzky said this?

Haha i agree. here's the article http://redwings.nhl....s.htm?id=653805

Kovalchuk has scored 30+ goals every year he has been in the league though. I'd blame most of his +/- on that brutal Atlanta Thrashers team he started his career on. He averages over 1 point per game over his career and is becoming a better defender with the system in NJ. Before New Jersey he was never asked to play both sides of the ice.

As far as Gretzky saying Zetterberg is the greatest Swede... Id take Forsberg all day long over Z. Lidstrom is the greatest swede of all time and will be for a very long time.

Did you know- Sergei Fedorov is the "greatest" Russian to ever play in the NHL to date?

I wont disagree. Like I said, he has amazing skill, when he wants to try. As far as Zetterberg, I dont feel he's the best,  I was just stating was gretzky hsd said.

Datsyuk has amazing hands. Unbelievable what he can do with a puck. I always enjoy his highlight videos. A couple others I enjoy are Kovalev, he's got amazing hands as well. St Louis Blues player David Perron in another one with quick crafty hands.

Stamkos was near 20% for all the points he gots , so stats woulds say him.

I like Eberle too , and Sidney is one of best clutch players in league and underrated in shooting i thinks.

However , coulds say Giroux coulds become one of the best . And Zetterberg is pretty handy when he wants to be.

Ovechkin when he goes for it has a crazy hard shot .

I woulds say too hard to really say who is best.
Being a Detroit fan and living in Michigan, I must say I think Zetterberg is hugely overrated. He is smart and a great playmaker but he doesn't add much offensively when he isn't playing with Datsyuk. Claude Giroux is one of my absolute favorite players. I knew he was going to be a special player when I first saw him play a few years ago. He has the skill to take a game over

I'm a lifelong Redwings fan and I agree with this. I think most of the Redwings team is over rated. They've looked terrible this year and haven't even gone out west yet. I still firmly believe they will never win a cup with Howard in net.

Stamkos
Ovechkin
Kessel (can't believe I didn't see any love for Phil!)

I gotta thank you guys for the "Sedin Sisters: 2 Girls 0 Cup" shirts.  Saw a couple back when you were playing in the Finals, everybody LOVES it here at the Shark Tank!!!

Opinions: Who is the most overrated player in the NHL?
Dany Heatley

+1 on Kessel. If you are talking wrist/snap shots in terms of quickness of release and velocity I would say it is a toss up between Kessel, Horton, Jeff Carter and Iginla.  The key to their shots are the fact that they never stop moving their feet while they shoot. Makes it so much harder for the goalie to set.

One of the hardest slap shots I have ever seen in person is Heatly.  Then there are the more obvious ones like Kovy, Stamkos, Weber, Chara, etc.
