Might be the perception.....as the RFE head is smaller and shiny, it may give the impression of a longer setup.  Just my pennies....
Could be. Could also be the shaft head combo is just off for home0006.

Hit all of them yesterday.

The G25 looks so big it makes the other two look like 3 woods.

That's probably what it is.  Just looked like the shaft went on forever for me which is a mental thing more than anything.  With any of these I'd drop down to a 43" shaft, but found with the stock lengths that the G25 was my favorite, then Covert, and Callaway last.  Based on initial impressions if I switch from my RBZ I'd seriously consider getting the G25, Covert or Anser this year but wouldn't commit on anything till I hit them outdoors at a rep held demo day at our course in the spring.

I tried the RAZR extreme 8.5 with the black tie today, and it is really a great looking head.  The feel was also pretty good as well, but it loses me why all manufacturers go with such long stock shafts.  The head has a nice compact look and the numbers were pretty good as well, but not good enough to unseat the 913.  I also hit the Covert Tour with the VST shaft, and was surprised how good it felt.  I will say the head is almost too deep though; almost looks a bit odd.  The burgundy or red is not that bad, but just not my taste.  I glanced at the G25, but it just looked huge.  I did not have time to give it a swing.  I was really hoping the had the XHot Pro, but no luck there.  It is nice to have so many great options, and I really don't think you can go wrong with any if them.

If people are talking about the G25 head being big, I hit the Taylormade R1 today. The head felt so clunky. I didn't get many clean swings out of it and my swing speed was about 3 mph lower on average than any of the others I had initially tried. Plus the amount of adjustability seemed too much. I understand the benefits of being able to really dial in the club to your swing, but I feel like most players don't always fully utilize adjustment capabilities in most adjustable drivers. And if they do? They only make simple adjustments. The Covert has a lot of adjustability too, but it seemed much more simple to adjust than the R1. Maybe it's just me

Also hit the RBZ Stage 2 as well. I didn't notice much difference between the original and the stage 2. If felt a tad but lighter, but my numbers between the original and stage 2 were very close. Probably within a margin of error.

Not impressed with Taylormade's new drivers.

Also, graphics on a crown doesn't bother me or affect my swing in any way, but these were some ugly sumbitches. Especially the R1. Whoever designed them needs to be slapped. Just a simple graphic would have sufficed, like the Covert. They didn't have to do graffiti artwork on the damn thing.

Stock length for the Xtreme is shorter then most today at 45.5".  I think thats the max OEMs should go but doubt that will happen.  I have no doubt they will find a way to make 48" drivers.

I hit the R1 as well - it was unfortunately bad feeling and awkwardly short compared to everything else out there.  I subscribe to the belief that most all drivers go the same distance these days- when properly fit - but the R1 was rock hard and quite a bit shorter than everything else - INCLUDING the RBZ Stage2 - which kept up with the pack.

The shaft I used in the R1 was a shaft I get along with - the RIP Phenom.

The 4 foot driver driver has been done already. The Cobra Long Tom has a 48"shaft.
