Enjoy - I had a very similar setup a few years ago, wish I still had the irons - such is life.  Solid setup

Thats awesome!  I have heard good things about that driver and those irons.  I love simple setups. Once you start thinking about hybrid, fairway wood, and wedge combos you dont stop.  Maybe thats just me. :-/

Thanks Turdrigo. I read quite a few people who said the same thing and also wish I still had my old irons. They sat gathering dust for a few years and then I took them to go play with some guys from work. Everyone had newer equipment than me and I blamed my poor play on the clubs rather than the total lack of practice so I sold them, a decision I now regret.

LTaylor59, Yes, it is the greeter at Costco in Idiocracy. I bought a number of drivers from WalMart for around the same price ($40) I paid for that Cleveland. Live and learn.

JeremyM, I might be able to squeeze one more club into that bag and it might be some type of fairway metal for use around the the greens on the hardpan pastures I sometimes play. My short game is what kills me usually but I mean to change that this year.

It was nice to meet you-all.

Didn't even finish one round and the Cleveland driver didn't make the cut. Instead I will be playing the Cobra S3 driver and 15.5* 3 wood. My wedge is longer than I originally thought/worried so the gap is not a problem. Already thinking about some Wilson irons to replace the Pings and some Titleist woods. Yikes, I didn't set out to become a club ho but it may be contagious around here.Posted Image

I feel you, brother!  I had been playing a set of Burner 2.0's I picked up on sale at Dick's about 6 months ago.  At Christmas, I bought a Cobra Amp 3-wood on eBay (just under $120 including shipping).  As badly as I wanted it, I ended up hating it.  Couldn't hit the thing to save my life.  Long story short .... friend of mine had been jonesing for an Amp 3-wood (he's got the 5-wood and loves it).  He had a set of Cobra S-9's, graphite shafts, 9 clubs (5 thru Lob Wedge).  I've been wanting a set of S-9's since they first came out.  We swapped straight up.  Now the Burner's are gathering dust and I've already re-gripped my Cobra's.  Wonder what I can ho next? 😉

Hello James,

I hate to say this but I have already changed my bag again after one day. LOLOLOL!!

The S3 driver isn't really shafted right for me. Some people have written that they sky the Baffler RailF at times but I had no such problems (maybe partly due to the fact that we had mostly tight lies where we played). Anyway, I wanted to tee off with the three on every driving hole because it was so pure but my playing partner kept egging me on to let the big dog hunt. Anyway, I will be playing a Nike driver and Titleist 975F 3 wood on Monday. My ultimate goal is to get a Callway FT Tour 3 wood and ditch the driver completely. Thanks for your comment and I know that you will really, really, enjoy those clubs. They are quite possibly dollar for dollar the funnest woods anywhere.

About the time I've talked myself out of an upgrade, I read something on one of these forums which helps me to rationalize to myself the new purchase/upgrade!  I need a similar to forum that could help me rationalize the purchases to my wife...

Which is why for anything except a full club or shaft, I have it shipped to work!  The folks at work still look at me weird when I get a 4 foot long, non-work-related shipment so I've limited it to the small stuff and take a chance with the wife beating me home for the big stuff...
