Classic Adams blades. You can tell James just plays the stuff he likes and his clubs looked beat up! He has a great swing.

it's weird how he signed a deal with callaway but only plays 1 callaway club?  i'm surprised he doesn't even use an odyssey putter.  he uses a retail scotty cameron, haha.

i like his game and it's nice to see him finally make it to the pga tour.

He has a great swing, James is a local guy around here and I see him at our main practice facility from time to time.    Great tempo.

James has the h.d version of the 910 hybrid. Word was they were quite difficult to hit so very few tour players had them in play.

Standard practice and contract.  Driver and bag sponsorship.  If he wants to make the full jump I'm sure the deal will be reworked.

Now this intruiges me as he used 712MB last season when he played so well so where this beater set of old Adams irons come from?  Either way its pretty cool to see a mixed bag of stuff like that.  That's definitely a smaller version of the 913Hd hybrid which was an early prototype head last year.  I got to hit a few balls with a PGA Tour players personal 18 myself... VERY muted sound.

Cool to see him using what he trusts and likes...especially for a young guy! I've always wondered how you can play for over a million each week and then let the tools of your trade be swayed by a few hundred thousand. There is so much more money to be made in the way of prize money for a guy like this that it never made sense to me.

Good for him and sweet set-up.

i believe his only win last year (june - rex hospital open) came with using the adams mb2s.  perhaps hes trying to conjure up that winning mojo again!  i hope he does well this year and will definitely be rooting him on!

I know James and the guy who does all his club work from here in Alameda. James is a hell of a player and a hell of a nice guy. Very down to earth and remembers where he comes from. I saw him at a practice round at the US Open last year and when he was walking down the stairs to the 1st tee, all these kids were trying to get autographs from him. He stops and starts signing some autographs, but stops for a minute and says to the kids, "You know i'm not Anthony Kim, right?" LMAO..it was hilarious! Anyways, the deal he has with Callaway is for the Driver, hat and bag. If i hit my irons as well as he does, id stick with what works too!lol

That's funny right there.

It's always cool to see a mixed bag, and especially a retail SC, in play by a PGA pro, no matter who the sponsor.

He's played that set of Adams irons for 3+ years.  He put Titleist irons in the bag for the last 4 events of last year. He's also tried a ton of different putters in the last few years, but he always ends up back with those irons and that putter.

Most guys didn't know they existed.  Not exceptionally hard to hit. Very flat ball flight and hot.   I love the one I have.

Ive never seen those pro black's. Very sharp looking irons! Never knew they had a Hd version of the 910, would like to give it a few swings though.

Callaway tweeted that he hit 85% of fairways with the X Hot Pro driver...

His story is pretty impressive.  He was going to give up golf to sell real estate and actually worked in a department store selling cheese.  With a swing like his, I doubt he'll ever have to do, either.

EDIT: Just heard it was shoes he was selling and not cheese.  Oops.

Did TMag "borrow" once again from Adams the 'screw' idea from these irons?
