How do you like the R1?  Love mine but a lot of people (especially here) seem to think its a below average head so it's always good to see others who have had some success with it.

I think it's one of the best since the R500 series. They finally produced a lower spinning driver that also is 460cc. I'm extremely excited to put the black version in play once it arrives. The only reason my R11s sees playing time is do the the fact it's the 390cc model, the white heads just look too big at times, and the smaller footprint helps

That's quite a collection! Love seeing the old mixed with the new. I noticed you went from MBs to CBs back to MBs while you were playing titleist irons.. any reason specifically? I'm trying to decide between the two myself right now and having a hard time :)

When I initially made the switch from the CB model to an MB, it was dictated by the width and camber of the sole. If Titleist would have offered a sole, similar to the R9 B model when I was on staff with them I would have played that option on a CB head. But since there was not one available, I chose to stick with what I was familiar with and that was the MB model.

A couple of questions.  What did you think of the k grind?  What was that raw looking wedge at the beginning where it had the wide sole and hand ground? Why the change from Titleist to Taylormade?  This is a good looking bag!

Thank you for the kind words!

I wasn't as impressed with the K grind as I had hoped to be. There just isn't enough bounce for my liking. But I do like the overall look of the wedge.

That wedge is an old Vokey 200 series 60*. That thing is a beauty, ill post some photos soon.

Now that I am a Taylormade staff member I am required to play "X" number of clubs to meet the agreement. And due to my constant merry-go-round with putters, that meant the Vokeys had to go. But I will say this, the ATV's are extremely underrated. Very good around the greens and exceptional when you play with and open face.

I gotcha, I have a k grind coming because I have the m grind right now and it doesnt have enough bounce for me.  Hoping the k grind works out.  I dont really like tmag because of the amount of clubs they come out with in such a short amount of time.

Sweet collection of sticks man!

Just curious, was there a specific reason you went from Titleist to Taylormade? I am an apprentice and starting to look at pros cons of the different staff agreements and would love to hear your opinion/info/advice

Thanks buddy

I have been dreaming about these irons since the USGA made the groove rule change. I have searched high and low and have finally found the "perfect ones". Finally a Taylormade iron set I can feel confident with!
