I need  the club to look good first, then will find the perfermance in my search.  Im a traditionalist and don't like the "left field" look (Futura, CrazEE, Nome, Spider to name a few).
Personally, I like a Answer style head in a flow neck.

I don't think anyone will stay with a putter that doesn't look good to them.  There are so many good
looking putters out there that are highly functional you can have both.

Nobody, nobody, games clubs that don't look good to them.

This is like asking me the same question about a woman. While its agreeable a pleasant appearance is desirable, at the end of the evening, it's ALL about her performance.

I think in this day and age, you shouldn't have to sacrifice looks in your clubs. There will always be a comparably performing club that suits your eye better.

A putter that doesn't appeal to me never makes it into my bag or hands.  Looks are a deal breaker and I've found that there are many good looking putters that my options are never limited.

I think part of having a putter that works for you is looking over the ball with confidence and liking what you see.  I think the two go hand in hand.
