Good morning. I was just wondering about the possible differences between these two drivers. I've done some searches on the net and could find anything directly comparing these 2. I know the G25 hasn't been released yet.

My last couple drivers have been Ping. K15 to G20 to my present Anser. All improvements. I just got the Anser too, and now my curiosity has peaked over the G25. I will say I never got along with "triangular" shaped drivers such as the Superfast, 909, etc and got along more with pear shaped drivers such as the J38. My miss is a terrible hook too. I dunno.

Comparisons? Thanks

Supposed to launch higher and have more spin than the anser. Said it will be more forgiving than the g20 which seems nearly impossible.

G25 has an uber deep head.  CG will be way back there for high launch.  Some of the pro's are using it already so while the spin may be higher than Anser, which is a low spin head, I doubt it will be high judging in a general sense.

I'm going to take a hard look at both of these drivers when I get fitted in a few weeks. I really wish the G25 had the same shaft options as the Anser.

I hit an Anser on a Trackman a few days ago and was blown away at the numbers I was getting.  I was going to wait to try the G25, but my numbers were pretty close to ideal with the Anser and I loved everything else about it.  So I went ahead and bought an Anser off Ebay.  No way the G25 could be any better than the Anser for me.

With that said, I am still going to try the G25 irons before I buy new irons this year.

I hit both at a ping fitting this week. I was convinced I would fit into Anser, but I was getting my best numbers with the G25 8.5 with the tour x shaft. Was launching around 14 degrees with 2740 spin. Think I will try some other shafts to get the spin down.

I agree, the shaft options with the Anser are just what people paying this amount for a Driver are looking for.

I'm sure the G20 Driver only came out just after the 2011 open which is only 18 months or so ago, that's a quick turn around if it is.

I wouldnt rule out the G20 sheldonjhacker. Need to hit both and see what you like, if there's no difference save cash and go G20.

I obviously haven't hit the G25, but when I was at PING this last fall, the PING fitter at the campus said that the G20 tends to be preferred by the harder hitter, longer ball driver that has his own low spin characteristics in his swing.  The added MOI in the G20 was not a consideration at their playing level - they are all forgiving drivers.  The Anser is for the mid tempo swinger who imparts spin due to their AoA and of swing attributes.  They said the Anser is very popular in the LPGA and with medium hitters.

Not to say that long ballers can't play the Anser - that's just how it was being fit across their tour players.  SAYS THE PING EMPLOYEE - not me.

And that fits with what we see from the PING website.  You have Bubba, Cabrerra, Canizares and Mahan all rocking the G20 (or G25 now).

You see Dimarco, and a few LPGA players in the Anser head.

Oosthuizen is the outlier  "long ball hitter" in the Anser driver but he has played the Rapture v2, i20, G20, and Anser all since his win at the Open Championship.  Guys switches drivers often and may already be in something else.

Not sure about the G25, but was at the range with my I20 and anser today. Will be putting the anser on the BST.  I20 just works for me

Interesting.  I think there were more Anser drivers on the used rack at my mega-retailer that there were R11's of any generation.

This is very interesting. I didn't even bother hitting the anser. I am no long hitter. More like moderate swinger. Once I gave G20 a try I was in. Gotta go back and try comparing the two before I take my G20 our for a round.

I owned the Anser and it was just too low spinning for me.  Low bullets.  For the right person, it would be a real bomber.  I loved my G20, but when I outgrew the regular shaft I traded it for an R11S.  I'm really psyched to try the G25 driver next month along with the G25 fairway and hybrid.  Could be a real winner for me!

plenty of i20's on the tour great driver, not much mention in the above conversation.  I just put one into play with a Oban Kiyoshi Black and it is a unreal setup, feels better than the anser and has been longer with the same shaft, I am not sure if this happens to be that perfect combo or what, but I will say it is impressive.  And the i20 came out a year ago so still considered part of the current lineup with Ping.

I'm trying to figure out which one to go with. I'm currently playing a Rapture V2 WB73 and hit it good, but looking for maybe a little more control. I've tried the Anser Ahina combo and get a few more mph's on the ball speed. I am a high launch/high spin hitter.

I'm tempted to pick up a G20 Tour because of the price. Just don't know if it would be better than my current combo.

I haven't hit the g25 yet, I did put the g20 up angainst the Anser.  I  hit my driver high and with alot of spin .The anser was the clear winner  for my swing . Brought my spin # 's way down , it was getting me 20-25 years farther than my g15 draw & the demo g20 and thats gold for me. I will try the g25 but I am thinking it will be more like the g20. So I am in the hunt for a lefty Anser driver.

More launch and spin. More forgiveness.

It would have made more sense to compare g20 to a g25 with same loft and shaft

I found the Anser and i20 to have very similar spin with consistancy going to the Anser. The Anser is very low spinning head so choosing the right shaft/loft combo is at a premium. It's really an amazing club and love the shape but I'm guessing the G25 will be the "right" model for my mid spin smooth tempo swing. I do not mind loud drivers like the G20 and I'm pretty sure the G25 shape will follow suite however I know this tingy pitch is not for everyone. I wasnt a fan of the G20's closed looking face so I'm excited to be able to order the G25 set graphics down at the open setting which should resolve that "look" for me. BB
