I saw some bad @$$ ones today in there.  Someone has one in there with heal stamp like "Ax 1 of 6" or something like that.  That one was definitely cool.  Some SSS ones with same finish technique came out way darker blue.  Some GSS came out more golden.  Just such a unique experience and GREAT to work with Byron.  Wish you all could do it.  I'm now working on ways to get Byron more visibility so he's elevated to the status he deserves as a Master Putter builder GURU!!!

The small promotion here in my project has led to probably about 8 new putter projects.  Let's keep it rolling!

Thanks for sharing the pics and your entire story.  I've got an order in right now, and seeing all your pics, detailing each step, has got me pretty excited to see how everything turns out.

It's great to hear stories like this especially from guys that own Tour Cameron's. I enjoy a good Classic Cameron as much as anyone, but it would be nice for Byron to get his due as a great craftsman as well. It's also nice to see he made Golf Digest's Hot List coming in the March issue. This is an outstanding accomplishment for a small company with zero advertising dollars in the magazine.

Ok couple questions for you.

What's that head cover called you went with?

What made you decide to leave the mill marks on the sole and the back cavity?

You putter is amazing. Looks fantastic. Dare a say its a work of art. I hope all your putts are great lags and drop for you with it. Keep us updated when you take it out on the course.

Simply beautiful! Does the tri-sole come on all byron putters?

No, the hard breaking tri soles are really only standard on 006, 611, 007 and 711. The DH89 and 612 are more of a rounded sole with more of a subtle three plane transition. Bomboras, Da Kines etc start off rounded. Any of them could probably be planed off for a hard breaking tri sole.

What's that head cover called...

That's the Japanese GS Peace and Smiley in white. There's a black version with the same embroidery threads. They were designed for Byron's Japanese distributor who sells a lot of German DH89 heads. There are  five headcover designs currently that were specific for the Japanese market, but some creep onto the US putters.

Your story has definitely persuaded me to experience a face to face build with Byron sometime before I leave Cali in the next few months.
Thanks again for the great write up

Unreal Putter. If I was in Cali I'm pretty sure I'd be doing one. If anything its a little shiny for my taste but it probably looks a little softer in person.

Left mill marks in as many places as possible because I really like them.  They show the craftsmanship and being an engineer, I wanted to retain them as much as possible.  As for the sole, I asked for this specifically and Byron had them do it for me.

Thanks for the compliments - I really love this putter.  However, I haven't taken it to the course yet.  This weekend will be the first real test, however I have done some office comparisons --- check out this link.

I'm accumulating a lot of "views" in this thread even since the putter has been finished for a week now haha

Thanks guys.  My "carpet rolling in the office" evaluation is that it feels amazing!  Gotta get this one on the course to see how it does on the moss...

This putter is beautiful. Love the diamond in the cavity. Stamping is beautiful. Byron is a master.

Putted with it today for the first time at Crosscreek Golf course in Temecula, CA.  Made tons of putts - only 24 putts over 18 holes with a hand full over 20 feet long.  My wife and playing partner said she never saw me putt so well.  It was simply AMAZING!!!!  I couldn't be happier :)

Now you better have shot something in the 60's or you are going to have to find a new driver. lol  Of course I had a round in the State Am where I had 24 putts and shot 80.  Not a good day off the tee.

I know what your saying. I know a guy who's claim to fame is 20 putts. Needless to say he only got 3 GIRs. Holed one out of his many chips.

To the OP, glad o hear its working. Although let's hope it's a long honeymoon period otherwise you could of started a more expensive hoing adventure

Love that track. There are a few holes that setup strange off the tee, but for the most part an all around great track. The greens have a ton of break, so 24 putts is really good.

What kind of condition was it in?

Fantastic!!  I'm sure Byron explained while you were there that no two flamed heads turn out the same, making everyone unique.  Great putter!  Great story!  Congrats on the great results on the course!

Shot 69

Course was in excellent condition.  Plus, there was no wind.

That is a great score, especially on that track.
