I sold an item on Ebay and shipped the item the next day. The tracking number shows that it was delivered yesterday and he left me great feedback this morning. I have 25 feedbacks at 100%. WHY ARE MY FUNDS NOT RELEASED YET!?! On one of the sites that I saw for EBay it says your funds will be released when ONE of the following happens:

21 days after order is placed
or
3 days after proof of shipment
or
Buyer leaves positive feedback

Well my buyer LEFT POSITIVE FEEDBACK and when I called paypal to release the funds they say "we do not do that anymore, its either 21 days or 3 days after proof of shipment". WTF?!?!?!?! The guy from PayPal was in my account and saw the buyer left great feedback, WHY CANT I GET MY MONEY!!!!!!

Been like that for a while now. When you sell something make sure you always put the tracking # on the ebay purchase. That does speed it up. Unless you are a power seller, ebay owns you as a seller. Don't like it.... don't sell on there.

+1

Paypal will release funds quicker once you have a good history or transactions but ebay still holds funds.  That's the way it is.

I used a tracking number and it showed it was delivered, AND the buyer left great feedback. PayPal just said call back if it is not released by Tuesday... TUESDAY??? I understand if I did not provide a tracking number and just clicked that I shipped it and the buyer had not left feedback already, I got it. But when it shows it was delivered AND the buyer was obviously happy, why can't I get my money.

That is thier policy. Unless you reach a certain status with them, they hold your money for a while. It is not based on individual sales.

Its just the way it is man.... Not really sure any one will give you an exact answer. But arguing it with any one won't help.

90% of time BST. If it comes down to selling on Ebay, I will. But I also do know going in I will get banged on fees and will have to wait a while till the money is released.

I had the same reaction this guys having when it first happened to me. Now, I just know it and expect it going in. Just one of those things thats a way of life...

Don't panic. Are you new to selling on ebay? I had plenty of positive buying feedbacks and when I started selling stuff, PP enforced this fund-holding-policy for maybe 5 to 10 transactions before it went away and now all my funds are available immediately after the buyer pays. I know it's a PIA at first but you just need enough selling feedbacks.

I can't remember for how many transactions it was like that, but the first transaction definitely took about the full 21 days after delivery confirmation for funds to become available. Gradually, payments became available sooner the more I sold and received positive feedbacks.

Word to the wise, ALWAYS add delivery confirmation/ insurance, and CYA. It's well worth the extra few bucks for protection -- even if it's out of your pocket.

Why couldn't you just be patient and let the process run its toll. Im sure its done for a reason to protect buyer/seller. And you calling a lady an "indian" and a "dot" is pretty bad.

But hey at least you got your money right?

This seems odd.  I have sold on eBay for a decade (not as a business) and eBay/Paypal has never withheld payment.  I have never had to wait for proof of shipment or feedback.  You sure this is accurate?

Maybe the club was his lady and it was a Tour Issue TMAG dot head from the Dubai Classic?

Otherwise, I agree...over the line.

What I said could be deemed as derogatory so I took it down. However, I called Paypal and spoke to a lady who released my funds. I don't know why the guy I talked to earier didnt do this. I did not demand anything just simply said why is it still on hold if there is proof the buyer is happy and proof it was delivered, she said your right, I can make an exception and release the funds now. So I ended up getting my money.

To Noyes26, I understand it is policy, but the policy also states that the ebay hold will come off once I get positive feedback (which I had), and the guy I talked to said, "oh we dont do that anymore".... my question was why would it still be on the ebay website if you dont do that anymore. I fully agree with the police that the funds should be held until proof of delivery and/or positive feedback to protect both the buyer and seller. However, when you have both those things, why are they still holding my money.

Just saw your post, and yes it is very accurate. I did ask her what I need to do in order to stop having my money 'held'. She said you must maintain a 100% or near 100% feedback rating and must have 20 (25?) selling feedbacks within the last 12 months. Also you must have a near non-existent return/refund score. If you do that, then your money should not be held.

I think you only have to have 10 or more selling transactions with positive feedback or something like that. I only have 13 selling transactions and my funds are available right away.

+ 1  i have had paypal 12 years i believe and never had that happen and to be honest i have never heard that was a policy on Paypal   , the only times i thought money was held was when a buyer pays with E check and they wait 4 to 7 days for checks to clear the bank to make money available but they also advise not to ship ,  but your situation   ??????

It does seem odd considering most transactions are bank account to bank account...directly. PayPal is just operating as the middle man and taking their cut. I've never had funds held in my history either, but I haven't sold anything on eBay in quite some time either. I think the last time I bought something on there was about two years ago...

Payment is put into paypal. They just make people wait to get it out of paypal account.

Do you imed. take the funds out of your paypal acount.   Until i had i think 20 transactions, they held mine.  Money went into paypal right away but i had to wait to withdrawl it.   I no longer have to wait.

I also remember something about holding funds if you sell an item in a classifcation you typically don't sell. Like someone who sells golf gear all of a sudden sells jewelry. Dont remember the specifics though.

Wow take it easy man. They have a policy they stick to. It's not just you they do this to is EVERYBODY that sells on ebay unless you're a power seller.

Sellers must have 25 positive feedbacks or more within the last 6 months to have funds released instantly.  It sucks, but that's the nature of the beast.  Allow them to hold your funds as long as possible and to draw as much interest as they possibly can.  Had it happen to me and that was back when you could call and get them released so after positive feedback was left.

PayPal holds on to your money as long as they can for the same reason a dog licks his nether regions. Because they can.
