I had a dream last night I met Rory somewhere and he was pretty cool. Of course I asked him if he was going to play his Scotty or a Nike. He said he loves the Method.
You sir are a MAGICIAN!!! Rory publicly announced he loves the new putter, are you actually sure your dream wasn't real! :ok:

Nike just put some great pics of rorys clubs on their Facebook page. I'd put them up here but I'm on my phone.

Thanks.  I thought his driver was 10.5 neutral but the site says 9.5 neutral.  Tweaking already I see.

Those "VR" blades are still 712 MBs...notice the dog bone design (a Titleist trademark)in the muscle as opposed to the flat back design of the Nike.  The cavity also look suspiciously like the 712 CBs...anyone care to elaborate?  I know because I game the 712 mb/cbs.

Follow up to my 1st post, if you look at the 1st pictures posted (with the Clover Scotty putter), you can just catch a hint of the Titleist "dog Bone" blade design.  In the subsequent NIKE FB post which features a full ensemble of Nike VR blades 3 - Pw, and a NIKE tour bag, th blades look more NIKE...can't tell for sure cuz the pic quality is "iffy".

I am still not convinced he is using the NIKE VR Blades...maybe he has the "photoshoot" set and then the gamer set which he still uses "NIKEs" with the dog bone mould design ala 712 MB ???

Saw Rory on range post round 1 hitting Covert 3 wood. And it was straight off the deck,no tee,so it wasn't the driver.Sky Sports camera's came back to the range for his afternoon session but sorry no pics.Definately Covert as it had the red crown.

Wow, now that would be a story if he put a Covert 3 fwy in the bag for round 2!

Hmmm... They are, in fact, Nike clubs 100%. Sorry, but I don't see any 'dog bones' anywhere on them, in either sets of pictures. The rim of the muscle is straight from heel to toe, unlike the softened ends of the 712MB's muscle. There are a number of differences between the Vr's and the 712's, evident in the photos. The Vr's have a flatter, squarer sole from front edge to back, much less camber than the 712's. Also heel to toe the sole is flatter. The Vr heel is much squarer, from sole to hosel. The aforementioned muscle edge. The X3X grooves. Again, I'm sorry but I just don't see it.

Unless, of course, you're just taking the p!ss!!

My apologies for any offence. I made my original post with my tongue firmly in my cheek, but I quickly realised it may not come across that way, so deleted it literally 5 seconds later.

But I stand by my post above. 100% Nike.

Again, I'm sorry.

I saw on TV  that Rory's used covert fairway on second round...

I could understand he moved back to his old scotty because we all know putting is a feel matter and he may felt that he would find the way again with his old putter... but the 3 wood ltd edition looks like more similar as his old titleist, than the covert... Not sure about if he was using the tour or regular version of the covert, but anyway I think now he just need to be a part from all the flashes and expend more time on the range adapting to his new equipment and gaining confidence that all this weeks media stuff I'm sure distrected him.

After reviewing a bunch of players on the Nike web site, it looks like Rory is the only one using the Covert Tour driver.  The rest of the Covert driver players would seem to be using the Performance head.

Makes you wonder who the Covert Tour was actually designed for...

Thorbjorn Oleson is using the Covert Tour.  Seems like it works well for him!

Yes he was.  I did not realize the game he had, very solid from tee to green.  He is going to make a big splash this year on tour.
