Looking forward to playing Wednesday. the South seems to be recovering well from the Tourney so it should be fun to meet you Tony and meet Rob since I didn't get a chance to meet him during the FARMERS.

Here is the video of me trying to make the 250 yds carry over the ravine. Epic fail even with the wind.

Played South yesterday....first round out since the Farmers. Course was still in great shape, even the greens were running good despite the punching. I'm actually getting over a sinus infection and HAD to take a cart so I wouldn't burn myself out. I typically walk but couldn't F...n believe the price of a cart for a single. 40$.....??? Couldn't believe it, but it's been a while since i've ridden on that track. Won't be riding out there anytime in the near future.LOL.

Wow!! I guess it's $40 for single or double.  That's what the two of us pay.  Double or Triple usually walks but we took a cart because of my bum knee and the windy cool weather.

Glad you took the video of #13.

You can't even believe how much further back that tee box is unless you walk back there.

Amazing some of those guys can get on in two from all the way back there.

Yeah, that picture of us walking back to the tee, still doesn't do it justice.  When we got to the regualr tee for that hole, and we looked back, I was like  Holy Cow!!    I didn't even attempt it.   Even in my best days I couldn't carry it 260.

If anyone is familar with Whistling Straits it kind of reminded me of the PGA Championship tee box on hole 8.  It's honestly a good 100 to 125 yards behind the green tees. Which I think makes the hole about 520 yards for the pros..as a par 4.

I'm sorry...it stil kills me every time I read about you guys just casually saying, "I'm playing Torrey South (or North) tomorrow if anyone wants to join in.

The closest US Open course to me is Congressional Country Club...only about 30 minutes from where I live.  But yet, I've never posted, "Thinking of playing Congressional tomorrow if anyone else can make it"...and oddly enough no member from Congressional has posted that as far as I know :)

Enjoy the round, whichever course you get stuck with :)

Rob, don't worry Im sure if you just remember the round before your fitting it will probably be the same outcome. Game isn't coming around too good right now so maybe torrey isn't the best place to play right now but such is the San Diego life style. :pimp: :beach:

I guess you get used to it, but game in good shape or not, I think just walking around either of those courses and playing them might take my mind off the rusty game, at least for a hole or two.

Played here twice and both times disappointed in the condition.  Pricey for non SD residents.  For the price and hassle I'll avoid as I have checked it off the list.
