Hey guys,

I'm in Naples for a long weekend with friends and I can't head to Florida without playing 1 round.   So the question is, where would you play if you could play 1 round in the Naples area? I'm planning on playing on 3/20/13

I was thinking TPC Treviso?  Yes? No?  any other suggestions?

Any advice is appreciated

You are going to get a ton of responses.  I liked TPC @ Treviso Bay.  Verandah Club (Old Orange was nice too)  That was last March though.  Sure you will get more updated responses.

Didn't get an ovrwhelming response here, but I played TPC Treviso Bay, and it was awesome.  Would recommend it to anyone!
An amazing facility!

I really enjoyed the course also.  Is the clubhouse still a work in progress?  I'm going down there in a couple of weeks and hope to play it again.

The clubhouse is still a work in progress...I was playing with some guys who live on or frequent the course and they told me that it's going to be 2 years before it's finished.
Playing NY courses (other than the Bethpages) doesn't even come close!  I wish it was 75 and sunny in NYC now!

Naples has a bunch of wonderful courses.  Depending on connections I would recommend Hideout to anyone that can get on.  The course is fantastic and everything about the club is top notch.  I also got to meet Larry Bird (wearing calf length NBA socks, which is awesome) and Rocco Mediate when I played there so those were highlights as well.  Rocco was playing barefoot.

I played TPC Treviso Bay as well and the course itself was wonderful but that clubhouse situation is embarrassing.

I also liked Hammock Bay.

Old Corkscrew to me was miserable.  I played it on a windy day and had zero fun.

I enjoyed Fiddlers Creek a lot as well.

Okay, so spill the beans.  What's the trick to getting on Hideout?

Being awesome.....oh, you meant how did I get to play Hideout?  I was lucky enough to travel to Naples with a friend who has "connections".  I had no prior knowledge of Hideout before going and no one mentioned to me just how exclusive it was before we showed up.....then we pulled in the parking lot and all I saw were Bentleys and Aston Martins so I kind of got the picture pretty quick.

Then we walk in the clubhouse to check in and Larry Bird is just hanging out like a nobody at the bar.  Really nice guy.

Like I said, if you can get on do whatever in your power to make it happen.  You won't regret it.
