I have one and absolutely love it. It took a while to get used to, but it's well worth persevering with.

I know a lot of people will say it's a pointless club, and that you can get exactly the same effect by opening up a 58 or 60, but to counter that I always say that such a move increases more variables to the shot and more that can go wrong (such as increased bounce, misalignment, and trying to keep the face open through impact).

My current wedge setup is 47, 53, 58, 64

Pull the trigger... you know you want to.
What wedges do you recommend??

All of my wedges (except for the 47) are non-conforming Callaway X Forged Vintage. I have two of each. They are the best wedges I have ever used, and none of the newer models even come close IMO. They will spin ANY ball.

I know that they have a reputation for being ball shredders, and it's a well deserved reputation, but if you can afford to get a new ball out every few holes, they will be the best purchase you will ever make. If you only get the 64, it shouldn't shred the ball to badly as you will very rarely hit it hard enough to cause a shred.

I actually wasnt a huge fan of those.  I am looking at the newer versions of the vokeys, mizunos, and pings. I also kind of want a wedge with a sharp leading edge.

Mizuno MP-T 10 for all of the reasons the above poster states except for the shredding. I have a stockpile of new ones of these to last me a few years so if you decide you want to try a specific one let me know and I can let you know how they all play in different lies. I have some of the 52,56,58,60,and the 64.

I should mention these are also non-conforming, but OK for amateurs until 2024.

Yes, it is a great wedge, but just doesn't have the same juice that the MP-T 10 has. The 11 had to be conforming.

Forget the 64* work on that gap from 140 - 108yds. You need something else in between or a new wedge setup all together. Hate to have to feather in a wedge everytime in the 125 yd range.

The closer you stick it with your wedge shots the less you'll have a need for a 64 to chip it . . . jus sayin.

The distance inbetween is cake for me. I just use my pw. And shorten my swing/choke up. I am EXTREMELY comfortable in that distance.

If you're comfortable with it stick with it. I on the other hand always prefer a full wedge swing for max spin vs. partial 3/4 or 1/2 swings. I stil think having a 32 yd gap in between your wedges is ludicrious! You'd be much better off having consisitant yardage gaps to get the ball close to the hole. If you're hitting greens you won't need that 64* to chip on with.

I want the 64 for inside 100 not really for chipping. But i actually generate a good deal of spin w my partial swings

Unless you are playing in a pro event, they are all legal until 2024 I believe. If you are doing a US Open sectional or something like that, they aren't legal.

I would say but one and see what you think of it.  Bought one about 3 years ago and would not take it out of the bag.

Yep, if that is the case the non-conforming stuff probably won't go over well.

I think I decided on the ping tour s. Do you guys think I should go w the Ts grind (thin sole) or the regular? I have a steepish swing and I usually play softer conditions so im leaning toward reg grind

You could look at the Muira 57 series.  Great for all kinds of shots, conditions and spins a lot or the 1018 Scratch.  I have both and they are great.

Not a fan of muira and the 1080 are a little to expensive plus I can't find them in 64 degrees
