Every great golfer needs to have a Tiger mode. When I just play normally I can break 80. But when I play in tournaments I get distracted and barley break 90. I have begun to work on my mental game. Though I have moments in tournaments when I tell myself you have to get up and down, and it just happens. To do this you must trust your game good enough to make the shot happen. Just focus on short game and putting. If you watched Tiger this weekend you probably learned that if you have good short game missing a few drives and Iron shots won't hurt you. One tournament I shot a 40 on the front 9. On the back 9 i shot 48 because I got to focus on the leaderboard and lost track of iron shots and I just lost my short game. These are my keys to going low that will help you break 45 easily.

There is a lot of good advice here, but my advice is to just go play golf. Forget about what was happening at the range, don't worry about any poor shots, and just go have fun playing golf and grind for some good numbers. Tournement play is much different from practicing or even playing practice rounds. The only way to practice for tournements is to play tournements. If your hitting a cut, play it. If your hitting a hook, play it. Just make out of what you have to shoot a low number.

Short game, short game, short game! Focus on 150 yards and in! Practice with a purpose! Don't go to the range to hit balls unless you have a practice plan!

All good advice.  Develop a consistent pre-shot routine and stick to it especially later in the round.  If you get into trouble - slow down a bit. Good luck!

The game is a game with multiple smaller games. Each Round has a side which has holes with has individual shots with many thoughts going through your head. Think simply. Hit the Fairway. Hit the Green. Make this putt. Play each shot as they come, not each 18 holes as they come.

Break your round up into 6 mini 3 hole rounds, if you have a bad three holes don't worry rounds over move onto the next - if you have a good three holes congrats go beat it in the next three... but +1 to the people saying no doubles they will kill yah.

Practice in your mind. Just visualize yourself hitting good shots and it WILL help you.

Just a quick note...

Eliminate the mindset of "I have to shoot a..."...

All you can do is prepare the best you can and play each shot one at a time, please remember this!
