Tonight's the night! Bama taking on Notre Dame. Who's everyone pulling for? Myself, i usually pull for the underdog and as an Auburn fan i will definately be rooting for the Fighting Irish. Also i live in south Florida and its been tough putting up with all these bammers that came here a week early for the game.

Alabama is not as good this year as last. Brian Kelly is a great coach. i think it will be a good game, but i think the irish will win, as much as it pains me to admit that notre dame will win a national championship...

I'm a Georgia fan so it makes me throw up a little in my mouth to say this but, ROLL TIDE!

Let's keep the BCS National Championship in the SEC!

Im all for keeping the bcs title in the sec, but not Alabama. Their ego can't be fed anymore. ESPN already makes them out to be holy.

and BigDave11, your tears taste delicious.    Honestly, it was only a matter of waiting to see who would say Go Irish first-- an Aubie or a LSU fan.   One of them was going to say it, probably before you found a Notre Dame fan on here.

Tremendous amount of respect for Notre Dame... I don't think the game will be easy but I'm pulling for my Tide.

As a life long Michigan fan, it absolutely pains me to see ND in the national championship game...

Living in Chicago all my life, I've had to deal with what I believe is the largest ND fan base in the country- and it ain't easy. Many of the guys I worked with, best friends, a lot of neighbors... Its an epidemic I tells ya!

I'll be pulling hard for bama- even though Saban is a d bag of the highest order (sorry bama fans)

You think espn covers Alabama a ton? Try dealing with the ND coverage in these parts. Painful...

Edit-.this is not to say they don't belong. They most certainly do. And I'll be shocked- SHOCKED if this is a blowout...

Go ND!!!!  I can't stand Saban, to the point that I would probably end up in jail if I ever came across him face to face.  I'm a Michigan State guy and the way he leaves teams is just plain awful.  Did it to us, did it to LSU, did it to Miami, and will probably do it to Alabama one day.  Then all of his flip flopping and posturing one year demanding that a team that doesn't play for a conf title doesn't go to the BCS then the next year wanting it.  He's just irritating....

Honestly though, it'll come down to whether or not the ND line and linebackers will be able to stop Bama's backs.  If they can make McCarron throw the ball they've got a solid shot.  Notre Dame's offense better be firing on all cylinders because it'll be TOUGH to move the ball.

when all said and done, i think these two coaches will be as good or better than the '74 version. saban already has two national championships at 'bama and one with LSU. kelly has turned multiple programs into winners and appears to be succeeding at the highest level.

I agree, but Oregon isn't playing tonight. :slow_en:

Can't say that I want either team to win tonight, so instead am just hoping for good theater of a tight game with so much on the line.  Two teams that appear to be very equal with the exception of 'bama being better able to throw the ball deep.  A couple big McCarron-to-Cooper plays will likely be what makes the difference.

Serious question, how is Notre Dame going to score? Does their defense need to score at least 7 points for them to win this game?

That's my concern.  They'll need a turnover or two and their special teams has to play out of their minds to give them good field position.

I just hope its a good game. I am afraid it will be like Fla Vs my Buckeyes in what 07? (you know, when Troy Smith spent the time between Heisman night and Nat champ game eating food?) Can't say I'm rooting for either team. Just be watchable.

All this talk about how the SEC owns college football is getting old, especially after this last year.  I think all college football was down this year, including the SEC and Alabama.  They in particular are not as good as they were a year earlier.  I think this will be a close game, and how funny would it be if ND were the team to break the streak....a team that's been written off for 15 years or so?

Generally National Championship games are horrible games to watch, I'm glad I bet on it, at least that will make it interesting to me.

Who'd you take?  ND plus 9.5 looks like enough

I took ND, I think they'll cover. I also took the over on the 41 points. Alabama averages 38 per game on the road this year, Notre Dame giving up 9 per game on the road. With that said I just bet according to a guy that puts out public information and has a pretty amazing record. He's got it at 23-21 Bama. Hope he's right!

Looks like the fix is in on this one. Two huge b.s. calls against ND in two minutes. I want to see the SEC keep it, but that mess is garbage.

Pretty ridiculous, although Alabamas offensive line just looks like men among children.
