Here are some proposed set-ups for a 7 club bag and an 8 club bag.  Why would you play a reduced club bag?  Two reasons: easy to walk and carry; to make yourself hit lots of different shots.

Seven club set-up:

Driver.                 10*.         Spacing
Fairway wood.    18*
24* hybrid.          25*.           7
6/7-iron.              33*.           8
9-iron.                 42*.           9
SW.                     52*.         10
Putter

Eight club sey-up:

Driver
3-wood.             16*
21* hybrid.         21*
5-iron.                27*.        6
7-iron.                34*.        7
9-iron.                42*.        8
SW.                   52*.        10
Putter.


I like the elegance of the spacing for both sets.

I like the 8 club setup better, with the slightly smaller loft gaps in the iron setup.
