Here's mine, a 2005 Honda VTX 1300. I will be buying a Victory Cross Country here in the next couple of months as well.

2012 Monster EVO, got it a year ago, absolutely love it. Comfortable on long rides but can still lean her over when I want to!

Typical answer from a Hardly Ableson rider.

And just FYI, I have nothing against Harley's or any other bike as I've had 8 bikes through the last 40 years. I just sold a 2009 Electric Glide as I found myself riding the VTX way more than the Harley.

Anyway I knew when I posted this that someone would chime in with a remark like that. I will never understand that type of mentality. It doesn't matter what you ride, it's the fact that you ride.

Here are my two guided missiles of choice...2012 BMW S1000RR and 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale. Couldn't decide which one to buy so I ended up with both.

very nice choice of two very powerful and amazingly handling bikes.

Ive had the pleasure of both on the track, and man if I had spare coin I would race the panigale.

Thanks...both are incredible but in different ways. The BMW is clearly faster, not much of a debate here. The Ducati handles and stops better, again, not much of a debate. The perfect package would be the S1K engine in the Ducati chassis.

Paul, is that an Ape you tossed in the corner? Cold tires, worn tires or just a little frisky with the front pucks? Looks a bit like VIR from the pics but I can't tell for sure.

Anyone who rides saw this discussion coming...

HD to me is like Notre Dame in Football, they act like they are better than every other bike on the road, and then reality comes crashing down.  (well actually dripping out in the form of leaking oil)

Get the left hand wave from everyone on the bike BUT these guys.. :)

haha...I don't even wave at the chrome warriors anymore. I would wave to a drunk on a scooter before the rolling road block guys. I always thought of everyone on two wheels as one family but the HD boys see it differently I guess.

And probably worried that you'd look like the typical  40 something, professional mid life crisis white guy.

It's not 1970 and AMF does not run HD you will be hard pressed to find a more reliable bike on the road

My 3 crazy uncles have been riding for 40 years, 2 of which own their own motorcycle repair shops. They all switched to BMW's about 7-8 years ago and say they will never go back. They even roll into Sturgis on them every year, get many compliments. The days of burning non-American bikes are over.

See we dont go out hating on Harleys, like I said we wave to just about anyone and usually receive a wave back.  Now the whole, I ride a loud, slow, shaking, obnoxious bike so mine is better than all yours is a little old/worn out.  Thats all....

I never understood all the hate between HD and sport bike riders. I waved to everyone regardless of the ride (even scooters). My first and only bike was a CBR 600 F4. It was pretty tame compared to the 1000cc bikes my buddies were riding but it was more than capable for commuting to work and weekend twisties. I ended up selling it before I got married but I do see myself buying a bike in the future... most likely a harley road king or other touring metric cruiser

the "only real bike" comment was meant as tongue in cheek, I knew someone would jump on me for it that's why I posted it.

yup my bike is slow, does not handle well, and is really loud

yet somehow remains the cooler bike.....

lets be honest no one buys a Harley because they want to go fast, or because they want a canyon carver, we are all posers in all aspects of life think about it- you shouldn't wear a white belt unless your scratch or better, your titleist hat, loudmouth golf pants, scotty cameron putter, and blades....paaalease!!! poser , poser, poser

we buy what we like because we like it not because of what others will think.
