More time with Family and foundation.  Wants to play about 10-12 events

I'll be sad to see him less because I think he and players like him are good for the game, but I can't fault his reasoning!  You will never hear me say that a man shouldn't spend more time with his family.

Yep...good for him. I'll miss seeing him more often too but I completely respect and support his decision. I always hated when analysts blasted players for skipping events to spend time with family; golf is big but there are other things that are even more important.

Indeed this is true.  And I especially like it that he's coming right out and doing it, rather than fake it, or mail it in for a few more seasons, just sort of punching the clock out there.

That tells me that he put a lot into his game over the last few years, and knows that it takes up a lot of time and effort.

Also means another opening for a player trying to make a name for himself.

Good for him.  Stricks seems to be a great guy and family man.

I can honestly say that I doubt anyone will notice. Seems like a good guy but has the charisma of a pot plant. The tour will survive quite nicely without him imo.

Ad hominem attacks on Steve Stricker? Really?  Stay classy there Pony Boy.

As for SS cutting back his schedule- I had two thoughts.  One, I hope he gets a major before he hangs it up for good.  Two, I sure wish his performance in the last Ryder Cup could have been more of a career highlight.
