Just picked up a 2 iron today as I've always wanted to try one out being a high ball hitter.  I was hoping to get some shaft recommendations (both graphite and steel) for this club as it has a S400 in it right now which does not fit me at all.  For reference I currently play KBS C Taper x stiff tipped an inch in my irons and a Aldila RIP 105 x stiff tipped an inch in my hybrid.  I am looking for this to be a substitute to my hybrid and be a super low launching club for those windy days.

I have 2 different 2 irons I use, a X Utility Prototype 18° & a Callaway Diablo Forged 2 iron I swap between. In my 2 driving/utility iron 18° I use a Aldila VooDoo XVS9 which helps me keep the ball down nicely while keeping the setup a little bit lighter since I use it off the tee a lot instead of a 5 wood, gives me a little better feel with a oversized iron head. In my Diablo Forged 2 iron which it more traditional I ended up going with a Steelfiber 115, I wanted something as close to steel I could get with a little lighter weight. After trying a few KBS shafts but not liking the slightly higher flight I tried the Steelfiber which gave me exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a soft feel in the traditional 2 iron that would also keep the ball down as well as launch it as I need & it was the one. I thought about playing the same hybrid shaft that's in my X Utility Prototype but the feel just wasn't the same. An iron shaft is the way to go & I just wanted something that was as smooth feeling as my 7iron, plus a little lighter since I'd also be hitting it off the tee, hit the different shots I needed & the Steelfiber was the best compared to the steel shafts I tried.

The aldila NV MLTI pro 105 graphite is a very good low launch graphite option.  Lower (and less expensive) than most of the hybrid graphite shafts but obviously not as heavy as steel.

S400 in mine and really like it, so i'm not much help....but i did have a Dynamic Gold SL in a hybrid and really liked it.  that may be a good option for the 2i as well.

I would consider putting a KBS C-Taper X in it to match your irons.. its low launch and low spin and since you already know you like the shaft it should work out pretty well. If your looking for graphite I would suggest the Speeder 904 HB x-flex.. again low spin and low launch with a pretty solid feel.
