Good show; really enjoyed it. Liked the behind the scenes footage.

Showed what a circus his life is and how hard it must be to focus just on the golf.

It's probably natural that Rors transitions to movies to some extent. He's such a cool guy why not. I could see him being an actor.

Indeed, was a good show. Thought Wozniacki came across very well.

That was a really good documentary and well worth watching. The old home videos were pretty funny.

I find docos about rory's time at number 1 a tad premature. He may go on to be one of the greats of the game but at this early stage he is still unfulfilled potential. He has won 2 majors in 2 years but he hasnt exactly dominated on tour. Tiger at a similar age held all 4 majors and the players consecutively and went on a tear on the regular tour that puts rory in the shade. Rory needs at least 2 to 3 years of dominance before making movies about "being number one"

Thanks for the link to the proxy.  It worked perfectly, and is appreciated.

Enjoyed the show.  Rory seems to have enough smarts to keep his focus and continue his great career.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him hold the #1 position for a long time.

Tiger had 1 major at Rory's current age and was on his way to winning his 2nd

Hi whilst I can sort of understand what you are saying here you have to bear in mind that Rory comes from Northern Ireland - NI is a tiny country, population 1.8 million (Sydney has 4.8 million!) & trust me it is a big deal for anyone from there to achieve number one status in anything! - The programme was made by BBC NI but due to Rorys superstar status has (rightly) attracted worldwide attention - I am hugely proud of him (as you may have guessed) as I also come from NI and his home club (Holywood) was where my grandfather taught my dad (& later me) to play golf ... Wow, I knew NI was small but not that small. You guys produce a lot of major champions for a small  country. And champions in other sports like soccer and snooker.

Rors is an incredible golfer and his attitude is better.  He could be the one to give Jack's record a scare.

It would be great for another golfer to give Jack a shake but I dont see it happening with Rory. Sure he has won 2 majors from the last 8 which is the same as Tiger at that age, but if you look at his golf outside majors he pales in comparison to the young tiger. Tiger had a phenominal strike rate on the regular tour at that age and continued it his whole career. Tiger's "bad" years on tour (no major years) would be career best years for 90% of guys on tour. Rory just doesnt have that sort of consistent dominance. To win a major takes luck and you need to be in contention consistently. Jack had 19 seconds in majors and loads of top tens. Even the years has gone majorless he has been lurking near the top of the leaderboard. Rory seems to me more like a Phil type, brilliant when he is on but not on all the time.

Does everything have to be about Tiger?

I thought this thread was about a doco on Rory McIlroy.  Thanks for the heads up.

Any thread about rory will involve tiger, just like any story about tiger when he started mentioned Jack. Rory is being hailed as the new king, of course there will be constant comparisons with the old king. As far as comparisons go, I figure Rory will need to win at least 5 times a year every year to have as many tour wins as tiger at the same age as tiger currently. Tigers regular tour numbers are maybe a surer sign of his greatness than even his majors. I really dont see Rory with 70 tour wins at 35. I would be surprised if he has half that many.
