Interesting question this year.
I years past I have asked people on golfwrx how they got to low single digits. I was a 7 when I started coming here, and was burning to get lower. People here did help me. And I helped myself. I have gotten it down to a consistent 2.5 or less (my signature is outdated, fyi). I have been in the 1's, but not zero yet. But my goal of being a zero lost it's appeal. I can shoot under par now, and what used to be a fair round, now at this stage is a terrible round. So whether my handicap ever gets to zero, I am sort of ambivalent about it. I know where I am now, I don't need a handicap to prove it anymore. But I do want to improve my game some more.
There is one guy, who is recognized as the best golfer in the club. I have beaten him stroke play, but never met him match play. I would love to play him, but the bracket is big so I can't make that a goal, since I don't know whether we'd meet. I guess I could just challenge him to a money match, see if he's up for it. I'll think about that one.
ok, I think I got it. I think I want to qualify for the state mid am. I will have to ask the wife to consent, cause we have a lot going on. That will take some resources. But that is one thing that I kind of wanted in the past, that I have not done.
