Hi -

I'm heading to Hollywood next month and wanted to get some feedback on the following courses:

Plantation Preserve
Inverarry
Jacaranda West -- post renovations
Carolina Club
Country Club of Miami (East course)
Deer Creek
Miccosukee

I've played, Hillcrest, Colony West, TPC Heron Bay, Crandon, Emerald Hills and looking for some good mid-range courses in the area to play. Thanks.

I've played the first three you mentioned. My choices, in order, would be Plantation Preserve, Jacaranda, and Inverrary. I play those and Colony West fairly often.

plantation preserve is nice, wide open, with good greens. deer creek is a much tougher course, always in nice shape. inverrary's courses are good, but older. boxy condos built around the course. get mondays local paper for coupons for inverrary.

Beeker, Some friends of mine and myself went down to that area for a long weekend golf trip, we played 5 differant courses and were all in agreement that Hillcrest in Hollywood ( 15 minutes from the Lauderdale airport) was far and away the best course we played. You'll enjoy it . if you play it.

I played Jacaranda a few months ago and liked it. Not a world class course but very nice. I thought it was a fair value and fun to play. It was in great shape. Haven't played any of the others on your list

Heron Bay used to be a tour stop. All the courses you listed are pretty popular, I'd reccomend one a little less visited, if it's still even operating, Red Reef course in Boca is a Links style executive course built on the dunes, with trees. It's small and fairly easy, but pretty cool. I haven't played there for about 10 years though.

The Boca/Delray border area has about a thousand courses. Delray Municipal has some of the nicest greens I've ever seen.

Palmaire is one of the most popular courses in the area as well.
