I hit it pretty well today and got a little overzealous and made the following video:



I still have a lot of work to do but it's gotten a lot better from where it was 3 6 12 and 24 months ago.

I'm still working on basic stuff like grip setup pivot. I don't like how much my right arm is bending at the top with a driver, but it's always been a problem and is slowly getting better. I'd like to see it wider and more sync'd with the pivot. And my setup also gets out of wack so I have to watch it close.

And my left arm used to get really disconnected at the top and I'd lay the club way off. Fixing that helped big time.

Looking good, TD.  Nice improvement, great speed.  As you pointed out, you're still overflexing the right arm nearing the end of the backswing and your right elbow kind of "pops back" just a touch.  May help to feel as if your right arm stays straight the whole backswing (just a feel) and then film it.  Or feel like you're only taking a 9 o'clock backswing.  Just try not to get obsessive about being perfect.

I don't think Geoff minds if you do it like Spider did. But he wouldn't approve of my run on past parallel method lol.

Thanks HF. Yep I kind of started working on those general type feels when I got home. I also need to be careful with setup- I've been over doing the reverse K a little, especially with driver.

I'm trying not to obsess too much. I just try to think how everything I'm trying to do fits within what Geoff taught me. His framework has helped me not get too far off track. I do want to see him in ATL in February though if he's still going. Anyone know about that?

He didnt mind Spider because his shoulder turn was 100+ degrees ... yours isnt

The one thing I especially like is that characteristic of all good Slicefixer swings - All of that downswing energy is directed at hitting the ball powerfully.  No hitches, back-up moves, or hold-on in that downswing.  You're not fighting the clubhead and that's a big step forward.  Picked up any distance?

I just picked up one of these for my right arm, http://www.swingextender.com/. Ive heard they work pretty good.

I have picked up speed with the driver. I used to have to completely John-Daly backswing it to get my ballspeed up to 178 max. Now I can do it with some control. I have to step on it though, I;m more comfortable at low 170s. Previously I was only comfortable in mid 160s because I had so many issues.

I'm hitting irons further, the short irons a lot further. I used to sky my wedges. Couldn't hit a 60 full at all and my 56 was a moon ball that went about 90 yards. Now I hit 60 about 95-100 and 56 up to 120.

Right through the ball you raise your head slightly. Slicefixer prefers that the head stays down through the ball. Rather a slight nod than a slight rising up if you get my drift. This is one of the differences he has spotted between leveraged releasers and slingers.  I believe it has to do with holding leverage and how long so this could be a sign of a late micro-slingish tendency on your part. If you were only doing it with a driver it might be attributed to hitting the ball late in the swing, but you also do it with a  middle (?) iron.

I am not sure if you should change what you do through the ball here, but if you have contact with Geoff you should probably ask him if this is a consern. [/pm]

Looks really good TD. The one picky thing I see is the left over energy in your club head at the end of the swing. You can really see it in the very last swing as you "catch" the club head in the follow through. Try to release all of that energy into and just past the ball. You will hear Hunter Mahan talk about this. I think it may be a result of you really trying to hold the angle in your wrist. The grip may be tightening a good bit through impact. Channel all of that momentum out through the club head and let it go. Again, it looks really good. Now if you just had some decent music to play......

go get a kid's swim floatie for your right arm and wear it just above the elbow. this should help you keep right elbow from collapsing. because of the collapse the arm is having to rebound just a bit and is leading to a little more chase down the line than I think you are looking for. other than that good work. looks solid
