Christmas brought a custom putter. D W Davis took my order and produced the exact putter I asked for. More to come when I get a chance to put it through it's paces.

Finally got the opportunity to put the Jackpot in play yesterday. From the 1st. hole it was obvious that this putter was going to perform well on the course

The Jackpot DW made for me has a great weight and balance , allowing you to put the stroke you want on the ball. The welded Flow Neck was positioned to my exact lie (69*) and it sets up perfectly. The longer sight line on the flange makes putts easier to align. The milled face looked great, perfectly aligned and even across the entire face. The ball comes off that face without a clicky sound , it has a nice feel, not too hard and not too soft.  The high toe of this particular design fits my stroke perfectly and performed as well as it had inside, on my Tour Links Practice green.

Being able to customize the putter to my desires , at an unbelievable price , was what closed the deal with DW. His offer of 3 stamps anywhere on the putter, a welded Flow Neck, and choice of shaft and grip (from what he had available) would have broke the bank with any other putter maker. The step-less shaft is my favorite for putters and the Golf Pride grip fits me perfectly.

It came as no surprise to me that the Jackpot performed as well as other putters I own that cost 2,3,4,even 5 times as much. I am sure there are more options I could have included but at the price I paid there are not complaints, just high praise for DW's work.

There is a drawback though, and it may be that I just didn't ask, but this fine holing instrument did not come with a head-cover. This objection is easy enough to overcome and should not deter you from working with DW and designing your own putter.

My advice is to order one your way as soon as you can before they blow up and double or triple in price. You will not be disappointed. I will be glad to answer any questions not addressed in this review, just fire away. Thanks for reading.

So far the DW has not failed to impress. The first thing I noticed was the sight-line on the flange was not centered, but placed exactly on the sweet-spot of the putter. Lining up putts is really easy with the longer that normal sight line(compared to Anser style heads). More to come after I have had time to run it through a few sessions on the True Links green.

You can type "prototype putter" in the search box and you should see some examples of his putters or here is a link to his website:

I know what specs fit me for a putter, gave them to DW, and he hit them perfectly. The putter head came in @360g. , a good weight for my swing. It felt like an old friend in my hands yesterday on the True Links, will be on the course as soon as the weather allows.

Bottom line: a quality crafted putter that meets all expectations. A no brainer buy @ $110 shipped.

Is that a black shaft? Matte, gloss finish or black nickel? What grip did you get? I read the other posts in deal/no deal about him not offering finishes anymore. Would be awesome to get a blacked out putter head with custom color stamping and site line, with a black nickel shaft.

The Jackpot has a chrome step less shaft. I got a Golf Pride pistol grip style. I was unaware of DW offering different finishes , other than a bronze color for the head, as for shaft finishes, I have no idea. Run your combination by him and see what he can do for you.

I added a full review in the original post.

A big thank you to Tucker for all of his help. I pulled the trigger and ordered a putter.  The deal was too good to pass up and it should be here in roughly three weeks. I went with an Anser style putter, 350 gram head, in a chameleon finish. I also have it with a black chrome shaft and white, golf pride putter grip set at 34.5 inches.  I also asked DW if he would do some stamping and it was not a problem.  He was super easy to do business with.  I'll post pics as soon as it comes in.

I received my putter from DW.  It took less than three weeks and I was able to roll some putts with it, today.  Some specs for those that might be interested:

72* lie angle
4* of loft
350 gram head
Chocolate Finish

Personally, I think the finish came out great.  Some blueish hues, some dark chocolate and some copper.

It has a black chrome shaft and white, Golf Pride putter grip.  Below are some pics.

One more thing I'd like to ask.  Does anyone know of a place where I can get a customize headcover for my putter? Ideally, what I'm looking for is an AME type blade headcover in white and for someone to do some stitching.  I've gone to three or four places and so far, I'm SOL.
