I recently won an item at a charity auction for a foursome at Victoria National. Three buddies and I will have the opportunity to play for a reasonable donation to charity. Our foresome will consist of all non-members. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on etiquiette for this particular club? We are all single digit handicaps and play a respectable game. I am not worried about the on course portion. But don't want to "act a fool" in other situations. (Example: shoes in parking lot, hats in the clubhouse, caddie tipping and requirements, etc.)

My thought is to get in contact with either the Head Golf Professional or the Club Manager and request info that way, they would be more than happy to help you with all the questions.  Some places have a little booklet which they will send out to guests which outlines that clubs policy's.  I know when I've taken groups to Firestone CC in Akron I received one which we were urged to look at and were asked to follow general policies such as dress code, ect.

I work with an MD that is a member,  I'll ask him next week if I see him.  I played it last year with him but we used carts and no caddies.

The certificate included a list of rules but it was pretty much the standard set. Collars required, short lengths, no range balls on the course. The certificate says "foursome with carts, caddie required" I am assuming this means a fore caddie.

Got some info for you.  He said appropriate tip for the forecaddie would be $80-100 total for the group.  They have a guest locker room you should be able to access.  He said when u make your tee time,  ask about using the guest locker room and whether u need cash or card if u decide on getting anything in the pro shop.  Take your camera,  their are some beautiful holes.  #16 which is a par 3 is amazing!!  Have a blast!!!

GREAT course man as a foursome of singles you should be able to fully enjoy the course. I grew up about 10 minutes from where it's at and now live about 20 minutes or so from it. I caddied there for a few months in HS when it first opened and got to play a few rounds due to employment and my big tip for you is that you dont need to pull driver on every hole. This is a course that requires management if you're 270-300 with driver off the tee.

Also spend some time on the practice green as they're quick and firm even in the rain

I played at VN in the Friedman Cup a few years back. Tough golf course when the wind is blowing. If definitely say no to changing shoes in the parking lot. When I was there, they took my credit card and opened a temporary guest account for me to charge things against. Ultimately it was just going on my credit card but I made sure to bring cash for tips. Not sure if this is what they will do for you. I was up there at the club for 4 days so it made it easier to purchase things.

Have fun and play well. My only other advice would be to go when there is no wind blowing.

First off, GREAT course.  One of my favorites in the nation...it's spectacular.  When you set up your time to play request guest lockers and they will accomodate.  Since that's the case, don't change shoes and set up shop in the lot...get ready in the locker room.  Appropriate tip for the forecaddie would be $20 per man to $25 per man.
I would suggest not letting your ego get the best of you.  Most courses I'll play from the tips if I've never been there before, but I'd suggest making sure you enjoy the course instead.  The tips help a bit off the tee because a lot of danger is 300 out or so, but hitting into the greens with longer irons and danger everywhere will wear you out.
Have a great time, and enjoy a course that many web.com guys said from a straight golf course perspective is one of the best they've ever played.

Nomad as well really I play a bit at thunderbolt (old hamiltons) cause thats where my dad likes to play since thats where his league plays. I really enjoy Quail as well as Cambridge and I used to absolutely love Players Club of Henderson until they let it go. Funny thing about Fedrich is it is the one course that has kept me from entering city as for some reason I can't score there. I played the there on 12.23 with a buddy and his dad and had the best stats (other than putting) that I've ever had at that course but couldn't put a hole together all day long. It's alright as it was DECEMBER 23rd and I played 27 holes!!! However I am thinking about joining the Fendrich Mens League just to get myself more time on the course in a comp. situation.

Owensboro,  I live less than a mile from Ben Hawes so I typically play there.  Before gas went through the roof we would routinely go to Quail, Cambridge, Old Capital in Corydon, and Christmas Lake.  Still do,  just not as frequently.

I've been intending to get to Ben Hawes and Panter Creek. What are your thoughts on BH other than it being convenient?

Ben Hawes is nothing fancy but they really have it in great shape.  It's convenient but I sincerely enjoy playing it,  never get tired of it.  Panther Creek is a decent course but it's short.  5900 from back tees.  The Summit is a nice course if u haven't played it.

I played The Summit last year for an AM Tour Event, very cool course indeed. They had quite the confidence boosting practice range with about a 50foot drop from the tees to the bottom of the range I wasn't aware that PC was that short. I do plan on heading to Ben Hawes this spring, we outta try and put something together

Its probably going to be pretty sloppy. But beggars can't be chooser when it comes to 60's in Indiana in January

Depending on the window of rainless weather. I will also not be playing Helfrich. If I have a 2 hour window, probably McDonalds. If the weather holds for 4+ then Fendrich it will be.
