Alright golf lovers, here it is, a review with tons of pictures of the new Nike Covert Drivers.

The Nike rep came in and we had the chance to test out the new NIke Covert Drivers and boy was I surprised.

I'll keep this review short simple and to the point.

1. Looks: Just by judging this driver by the pictures and videos I seen I did not know if I would like it or not. When actually seeing it in real life I was very surprised of how "normal" it looked! Yes there is a big empty space on the bottom of the club the size of gran canyon but from address it is not visible at all. The tour and the non-tour version of the Nike Covert looked great at set up. The deep dark red color was not distracting at all and we all know about that swoosh on the crown right? That was not distracting either and from what I heard all the Nike Tour players will leave the swoosh on their. Hey, if the pro's can deal with that non-conspicuous swoosh...so can we.

2. Feel: The feel was amazing. The face felt super hot even on mis-hits and you really feel the ball shoot off the face at impact with a nice soft feel. The feeling of this driver was like hitting the sweet spot of a Japanese forged iron.

3. Sound: The tour version head sounded a little muted and low toned. Don't Worry, it was not as nearly as bad as a Nike SQ square driver heads sound. I would compare the sound to a Titleist 913 but a little bit quieter and lower. It is not a deal breaker at all and something I got used to in about 5 swings. You get used to it very quickly. The non-tour version sounded a tad bit higher toned and less muted, probably a more familiar sound to golfers out there.

4. Performance: Straight up performs! Compared to my current Titleist 910d3 driver I gained about 5 yards, had about 400rpm less spin and picked up a little bit of clubhead speed. Will I be switching? I don't know, I stick with what I am used to so we will see. The Nike Covert compared to the new Titleist 913 Driver it performed almost identical to me. They are both winners in my book.

Overall the Nike Covert driver really surprised me in a good way by its looks, sound and overall performance. Maybe this happened because I wasn't really expecting anything out of it.

Bottom line is, Nike has a real winner with their new Covert driver and after people get a chance to hit this bad boy, they will start buying. 2013 is going to be a great year for Nike.

Enjoy the pictures of the Covert Driver, Fairway Woods and Hybrids!

Thank you for your review and pictures.

Do you know the length of the driver and is the weightport removeable?

Thanks for checking out the review.

Unfortunately at this current time I cant seem to find that information. From what I seen the tour is probably around 45.5 inches in length and the non-tour 46inches in length.

The weightports do seem removable. I'll try to confirm all this with the reps when more information gets released.

Well I'm glad the crown doesn't seem to be as distracting as I imagined it would be.

The only Nike club I have tried more than once was the Nike VRS Limited Edition driver because of the beautiful headshape but the Nike Covert driver was way better in my opinion in all categories. I am very surprised about how much I liked this driver.

Can you compare the two drivers? U like one more then the other? Can you get either stock shaft in either driver? How's the FW & HYB? You like either ? Sorry for all the questions!

Oh ! By the way thanks for you review!

Thanks for the info, I had very little doubt these would be great. I currently play the VR limited edition and it is a work of art. Great head shape, feel and sound. Much better then the 910 D3 I that I traded for it in just about every way. Nike seems to be closing the gap with R&D and player input with the more traditional brands. Can't wait until the next demo day to try it on for size.

Ryan, so you compared the stock shaft to your fitted 910D3 and gained 5 yards.  If you got a shaft fitted to your swing I'm sure you would gain more.  How much more forgiving is this than you 910D3 (current driver).  Also, did you hit the fairway woods or hybrids and if so any reviews?

I swear I laughed when I saw that driver online but just saw in person at a local shop and absolutely love it. Have never owned a Nike club before and swore I never would but this one may sneak itsway into the bag. Had a chance to just hit into the net and loved the sound and feel.

I'm buying one tomorrow...just spent some time with both. I will compare it tomorrow with the Callaway X-Hot, Callaway Razr Fit Extreme, Adams, TM R1, TM RBZ Stage 2 and the Cobra Amp cell...So far the Nike has a pretty big lead, but the numbers will tell me more tomorrow with the launch monitor and swapping shafts and heads. I will post all the details after the demo.

I bought my Nike Covert today from Golf Galaxy. I retired the Callaway FT-5, there were tears of joy and sadness. I'm not long off the tee by any stretch of anyone's imagination. With the FT-5 I carried 225-230. I stepped into the cage with the Covert and the numbers were terrific with a sweet ball flight at the 8.5/neutral position. Carry numbers were 240-245, rolling out to 250+ on a regular basis. The toe and heel hits were still carrying a decent distance and not flying off the grid; even the miss hits were staying in or just off the fairway. This club deserves all the hype it is getting.

My Covert Tour is on order. Tour head with Tour Stiff shaft. It should be here in a week. My dispersion was tighter than the 913D3, Razr FIT Xtreme, and X Hot Pro and just as long. The Xtreme gave me a little faster ball speed, but only about 2 MPH tops. The Nike is absolutely an amazing feeling club. I liked it so much, I returned my X Hot Pro 3 wood and bought the Nike Covert 3 wood. I'll be picking up the 5 wood as well this weekend. And did I mention they are all very easy to hit?

I totally agree with you in the feel and forgiveness. Absolutely surprised me how great it felt.

I agree. Had a Nike demo tent setup at sisters country club. I was fitted for a Covert Tour driver with 70g xstiff Kuro Kage and I was blowing it by my R1 after a few swings. Even he asked if I ever thought I would hit a Nike club and I said no, never. A shirt, yes. Clubs no way. I was truly CoNverted.
