Kyle Stanley followed Nike and Nike Golf on Twitter recently. I think it's safe to assume that he is making the move.Picture 1.png

Just followed every major golf company on Twitter.

Safe to assume I am sponsered by all of them.

Rory, Watney, Stanley to Nike then?   That is a pretty good addition to their lineup.

I agree, but why would a commodity such as a professional golfer publicly follow a competitive brand? Would Tim Cook suddenly start following Google or Samsung? I think not.

Great find FSG.

Face it, nike will throw money before product....Titleist will not.  Local Watts store has current iron sets marked 599 for 8 irons.  Both forged vr and vr cavity.  Titleist product still full boat.  Titleist has not caved to marketing dollars since I have been watching, no matter the player.

If I was a retailer I know which brand would I like to carry.  a brand that stays at or close to the retail price the longest, a brand that represents my specialty store, a brand that is sold rather than provided, a brand that is NOT overly distributed and a brand that marketed towards better players that invest in thier clubs and a brand that is matched to other retailers with the same concerns.

Yeah you tell em.

But back on topic, that's a really good find. But the thought of Bubba in Oakley blows my mind.

Yeah I just don't see any reason why he would follow Nike and Nike Golf for fun. I feel like he doesn't need to be updated on products that he doesn't use. I made a small assumption, but one that I feel is correct.

I respect your brand dedication and loyalty. But I feel you are on basing the performance of clubs to their price. Which is partially true, but only within a company. Nike spends more money on R&D then any other company out there. The difference between Nike and Titleist top end clubs is not much anymore besides looks. Nike is a company that floods tournys with prizes and get their product out to the public. They also lower their prices to be competitive with the market because they know they have not built a reputation like Titleist has in the golf market. Nike is a business and sells like a business.

Taylormade, who is considered the top driver maker out there lowers their prices within months. Doesn't mean they don't like to market to players who invest.

All IMHO. But hey, I'm a Nike rat. Maybe it's me who is biased.

Looking at the pics from the father/son tournament, I see David Duval has Nike blades and wedges in the bag, he was also wearing Nike shoes and a Nike glove - a re-sign for 2013?

Heard that Duval once said in a Nike sales rep meeting that "these guys (nike) aren't ever getting rid of me."  Two years later they parted ways.  Looks like he may be back now.  His words might be coming true.

Duval is a pretty good grab IMO (if he is back with Nike).  He is still a fan favorite that a lot of people still pull for and I am betting he was pretty cheap.

I'm one of those fans.  I still keep up with his golf and hope he plays well.  It would be nice to see him get his game back just close to where it once was.

I am a DD fan as well.  He and stepson Nick had a nice performance at the Father/Son and nice to see his new Nike stuff!

If he gets healthy in 2013, you never know...  He says his main focus in 2013 is to get healthy and get his status back on tour.

All jokes aside I'd say this is probably a pretty telling.  Good luck to Kyle I think it's a pretty good fit.

Just read the article.  What leading staffer from Srixon/Cleveland has Nike picked up?   I have only heard of Rory, Watney, Stanley, and Haas so far.  GMac possibly because that would be pretty awesome.

Quote from the article: "As well, Nike has lured a leading staffer from Srixon/Cleveland in a move no doubt to boost support for Woods, McIlroy and co."

Not sure.

Some moves alluded to in the article that seem like new news.

Nike offered me $199 MM but I'm not taking a dime less that Rory.

210 yards is a smooth 7i for me. It's my short game that's holding me back, you know.

I have heard that Bill Haas was moving and the article states that as well.  Another good pickup for Nike if he does go.
