Trying to get a few groups together in Eastern North Carolina(Raleigh to the Coast) to play golf. I have two other GolfWRX members intrested, just looking to see if others want to get together. Thinking of doing this in April, maybe at Cutter Creek in Snow Hill or somewhere closer to Raleigh. If we can get enough people maybe we can do a Captains Choice. Any other ideas in venue would be appreciated. The earlier we can plan this, maybe the better rate we can get.

For me it has to be either a Saturday or Sunday and 2 or less hours drive time from Raleigh. Would prefer a  Format I am good with anything really. I more enjoy the company of fellow golfnuts than worry about the format I am playing in.

I'll play. I am in Pinehurst. It would be fun to meet some of the Golfwrx members. Of course I prefer to be paired with Golf Pride users! Haha. Bruce

I may be interested. I'm near Fayetteville, but a road trip to Cutter Creek would be good. It would be nice if GolfWRX or some of the sponsors good have a small prize for the winning team or random draw.:)

Great suggestion the4hornes. But giving prizes might risk your amateur status, so I vote we just play for fun. Bruce

Update.....NC Blademan and I met at Cutter Creek yesterday and played.  The course is in great shape and we found out how tough it plays in a breeze!  A good time should be had by all!

CC gets no relief from the wind/breeze.  If you show up on a windy day, getting around there is a chore.  Whoever designed the layout must be laughing too, because it always seems like the longest holes are upwind also.  I am not a long hitter by any means, and my friend and I usually play off the blue tees.  The front nine is fine for me, but the back nine feels like I am playing from the blacks.

For me, the details mostly revolve around the date and location.  It would need to be a day trip for me from Raleigh, and would need to be on a Saturday or Sunday.  And it would need to be a day when the Pack doesn't have a home game.  Format doesn't matter all that much - I'd just as soon play our own balls and enjoy the fellowship or do some sort of ABCD best ball match.

Okay, so we doin' this or not???? Pinehurst works, I can go to any of hte Raleigh courses - in fact I need to play the NCState tract (but my pref is Pinehurst), or I can get to Snow Hill. Hey, let's make a trip of it and do P'hurst for a day - get in the night b'fore, get  together, and play the next day (or two....).

Point is, I am open but I need some time to make sure my putter is in a good mood......

And nobody has any excuses - I'm way up here in OBX......

Blademan's computer went kaput, so hopefully he won't mind if I answer for him...He's (hopefully) working out a deal at CC for us, and we are looking at a date in the spring.  If any dates just plain don't work for you, speak up ASAP and we will work around the best we can.  By Spring, think March or April.  Format, TBA, and we would love to see if some Golf WRX brass would like to show up if possible.

Played cutter yest. My first time out there. What a fantastic golf course! Can't wait to see it when I greens up out there! I can def see if the wind is up things can get a little hairy out there lol. Played the blues with a little breeze and yes the back side played loooong! Moral of the story is I loved the course can't wait to play it again! Pumped to put up a 77 my first time out especially after the double on 1 lol

OK, sorry guys my computer was sick for a few days. I should be going to Cutter Creek next week to try to schedule a date for our outing. I would go this week, but they are closed till Monday due to the cold weather. Thanks Jbird33 for responding to questions while I was out.

If anyone is contemplating trying the course out, group golfer has a good deal on tee time fees with cart and range balls for $25.

http://www.groupgolf....php?id=1002557

Not sure that they will accept these vouchers if the outing happens, but it's a good price for a normal day on the course.

Guys, sorry for the delay. I have scheduled a outing for Cypress Landing in Chocowinity for May 18th. I have not been able to get over to Cutter Creek to set up something. I will also try to do one for Cutter Creek later in the summer. I have got 10 tee times blocked off from 10-11am. Please reply if you are able to come. I will post when I am able to get a price confirmation.
