First Look: 2013 Adams Drivers, Woods and Irons

By Zak Kozuchowski

GolfWRX Managing Editor

Below are photos and tech specs of Adams new drivers, fairways woods and irons for 2013. The  products are available in two versions -- LS and S.

According to Mike Fox, director of product line management for Adams Golf, the LS is Adam's premium line, which features all of Adams cutting edge technology and targets better golfers. The S line targets golfers looking for game-improving equipment and more modest price points.

Click here for more information on Adams' new hybrids, the Idea Super LS and Idea Super S.

Tech Specs: Adams Speedline Super LS Driver (Retail: $399)
  • Offers a mid-launch and low spin (lower launching and lower spinning than Adams' previous driver, the Fast 12)
  • 1 degree of of adjustability
  • VST (a slot in the sole), which increases ball speed on mishits and allows for a more optimally placed CG
  • "Real deal" Mitsubishi Rayon KuroKage stock shaft
  • Matte white crown with Black PVD face

"The VST (slot) is not the same depth the whole way through," Fox said. "It’s deeper in the heel and in the toe, where you need more speed. In the center, it’s not as deep, because the speed is already maxed there."

Thanks Zak!

Yeah, I want that LS FW. Graphics look fine without the red, in my opinion. LS hybrid/iron set would be sweet as well though I wonder if there'd be a big gap between the 22 and 5 iron.

Nice looking stuff; IMO, the crown graphics actually add a little spice to an otherwise “function first” kind of look that is synonymous with (pre TMAG) Adams.

Really? I think they look nice. Both FW and hybrid looks money. minus the graphics on the crown. Anyhow, we all know xtd performed. LS will not disappoint us.

16* 4W is available per Golf Discount website. Anybody can confirm this?

OK, saw the hybrids first, now these.
WAAAAAY too "me too" in the vein of TM/RBZ with all these graphics and now the white heads on these.
If their goal is to completely blur the lines between these merged companies: mission accomplished.
New technology with familiar graphics associated with another brand/product line altogether? Whomever came up with this did not get very creative or original, that's for sure.

Wait for performance... I know the graphics don't hit the ball, but in trying to differentiate and indicate it really is a "new" product, to the average consumer anyway, I'd say they missed the mark and were way too "safe."

I like the LS fairway wood. Being able to easily add/subtract length sounds like an interesting idea. Not a fan of the white crown though, but it's not a deal breaker.

besides the paint jobs, all look pretty solid.  Was really surprised to see a lie angle of 55.5.  Never seen it that flat.

It may be a great driver, but I really don't want to look down at a club that looks like that.  I don't care for white drivers or graphics on the crown.  I will be passing on this one.

Me too, must be something wrong with us.  For the record, I also think the R11s looks AWESOME and the R1 is growing on me as well.  I game an FT-iZ, so I must have a thing for "ugly" drivers lol.

Makes no sense to keep separate adaptors and weights.  Combine them to reduce inventory and allow interchangability between the components.
