Hey Everyone,

I've come across these putters a few times.   Seems as though this person is making their own putters...but they look like they may be cheap knock offs of production putters that have been modified.  It's hard to say.... the tig welding on the back looks like it was done before the pocket was milled.

There's a link to one of the putters that is currently listed:

http://www.ebay.com/...=item4abf00df5c

I'm intrigued more than anything....

Lol i almost bought one for fun. The guy makes them himself, I asked. He will come down to 40-50 bucks if you want to take a flier.

I wonder how he can sell them that cheap... the grip and shaft would be $10-20 let alone the head...

I love that style of putter. Not sure I like the face milling though. It looks "off" to me and not symmetrical. Overall though I do like it but without having a chance to see and feel it I don't think I would pull the trigger without someone else's feedback.

No way that he is making a profit on these rascals, if they are, indeed made in the US.  My money is that they were purchased from an overseas CNC shop, welded here stateside and marketed.  That, by no means says that they are not quality putters and a ridiculously decent buy at the $70-ish buy it now.
For that money, if you don't like the milling pattern, send it off to one of the custom guys here and get it remilled.  With the 360 gram weight, you have room for a new pattern and still having good weight on the head end.
To the poster who corresponded with him, what was his name, or did he never give it?
Nick

Never gave a name- just hit contact seller on eBay.  Let me stress, I came really really close to grabbing one, just to mess around with.

I bought a scotty cameron off of him that he remilled and did a gun blue job on.  Best putter in my stable.  I also sent him my scotty 2.6 (in my avatar).  He deep milled the face and did the torch job.  If you don't like the  milling, he will remill it to what ever you want.  Here is his other site showing some of his work.

He may be good at refinishing, but these "prototypes" look SUPER cheap and alot like a starter set putter IMO.

I bought a putter from him and he shipped to Italy quick and cheap. I have a Del mar style putter 360gr. headweight . It's a raw finish that I really don't like, but the milling on the face is OK and the feeling is good. I think that the value of the putter is higher than the price you pay for it . The guy also is very responvive on emails .

I'm thinking to buy an hand stamped bronze finish too.

They look good to me from the photos. I just threw him on my sellers list, I wouldn't mind picking one up from him in the future.

his offer of $70 shipped with custom specs (pic mill etc.) is pretty good. I am just hoping it is the equivalent of a sanded, buffed and welded walter hagen or something.

Just sent him a few emails, got him to make me up a custom fastbackish mcilroy putter! $120 for the putter with any finish, any of his stampings, any weight. Not a bad price. Didnt even require payment first so you can see how it comes out.

No payment up front is why we find some on Ebay!

Two of the putter heads are obviously just knock off cast putter heads... TaylorMade and Odyssey.

Do you mind me asking what he charged for a deep mill on the face as I have been looking to get that done as well. Thanks

I think this guy is pretty awesome!  Most custom putters run you 3 bills minimum (most cost double).  I like the idea of some random dude who just likes making putters selling them at cost to further fuel his hobby.  Im going to choose to imagine this guy as the Ron Swanson of the putter industry, and for that i will buy a putter.

Im sure there is a good market for custom putters at $xxx

Looks like someone pulled the trigger on the putter in the OP's link. Kinda glad since I kept going back to it and was close to just buying it to trying out. Hopefully it was someone from the board and they will post a review.

Decent looking putters at what seems to be a very fair price...whats not to like? Does anyone know if you supply your own grip?
