I just don't agree about the look, i20 irons don't look too dissimilar to the old Anser and there are TONS of sets of those in play.  Heck there were more G15 and G20 sets in play than the original Anser.   Having been to PING and been around all of their tour staff they never push the players into a new product.  They want to prove its better and go from there.  They sent Mahan a set to his specs and he switched on his own with no influence...  I know it came as a surprise to their staff.

I played i20 for a season and loved the look from address, 2011 ansers I couldnt get use to. Why do you think they werent played on tour, feel only?

No issues with my set, just as good as AP2's through the turf.  I'm definitely a picker when swinging well though.

Finally saw a set and they look really good.  Didn't get a chance to hit them but I liked the fact that they DON"T have the iron # on the face.  Why did PING do that to the I20's?  I set the I20's down and all I can look at is the 6 on the toe.

no major issues for me - notice it in the 5-3 irons though...  would prefer a smaller sole.

I play and love the original Ansers.  These look great as well.  My only gripe on the new ones is the "Anser" branding/medallion as opposed to the "Ping" branding/medallion on the originals.

testing the rocketbladez tour right now - committed myself to X amount of rounds.  the ansers are going straight back in after i complete the testing.  the anser's are just sweet.  i still wish i could modify the shape slightly.  i originally asked ping to put a little relief on the trailing edge - off top of head can't remember the name of the grind, however it was unavailable with the anser due to the construction/materials.

love them.  i may break my own rule and cut the rbt testing short!

Have you spent any time with the i20 irons? Just curious how they compare for you.

Good to hear Swan.

They're unbelievably good... I sold my AP2s before these came in and I was kinda worried until I actually played a few holes with the Anser irons.  They're just good in every single way for me.

Impressed with the ansers, but ping can by no means justify their price point. They should price them at 999.99, and even that is pushing it.

Has anyone compared the 2013 ansers to the originals? Visually the stabilizing bars are obviously different. The lofts, lies, and lengths seem the same. Any difference in distance?

edit: I see a couple posts up above comparing the two... anyone done a head to head. Reason I ask is that I have a set of the original ansers and really like them. But am looking for a bit more distance, and more forgiveness would be great as well. Considering the X Hot Pros (primarily for distance) and the 2013 Ansers. But if these would make only a marginal difference I'm happy to stick with the 2010 ansers.

2013 Ansers look different (better IMO) that's for sure... What's the reason you're looking for more distance?  If you enjoy your current Anser irons why not bend them strong?

I found the 2013 Anser forged much better overall and a bit longer than the originals, which didn't float my boat.

Enough longer that I'm having the lofts re-checked by Ping while they adjust the lies for me.
