Wife might be doing a half-marathon in Toledo next April.  Any recommendations?  I would have posted in the Ohio golf thread, but the questioned had been posed without ever getting a reply.

Distance is likely more of a concern than the price. I'm always of the opinion that if I'm traveling, I'm not going to bring the clubs to simply play what is essentially a regular course at home.  I'd say within a half hour if possible, but could be swayed if there was a real good option.

Having said that, my wife is not going to be cool with more than $100 unless it was Inverness, in which case I could sell it to her.  But I'm assuming Inverness is more than just your pro making a phone call for you.  It would be late April, so not prime season, but...

You could try stone ridge in bowling green, it is also an Arthur Hills golf course and I believe BGSU golf team also uses as their home course. A couple a bit farther away is Leslie park, in Ann Arbor it was voted the top municipal course in country a few years back. Red hawk run in Findlay, OH is a golf digest 4 star golf course. A couple other courses that maybe not be as nice but pretty fun are white pines and another one is Bedford Hills, it has the buckeye course, the wolverine course and the Irish course.

Im from NW Ohio.  Stone ridge and Red Hawk Run are great courses. Very challenging.

I would suggest either

Red Hawk Run is a fun course....played there a few times.  Some interesting holes with risk/reward.

I doubt you choose red hawk run, it's probally the farthest from you, but if you do I hope they got it back into shape. I played it in August and the hot dry summer really took a toll on the course. It does have some very fun holes though. On a side note where are you coming from?

Coming from London, ON  the Friday night.  Round would be played on Saturday.  Looking at staying in perrysburg at the moment, which makes the BGSU course a quick drive to get to, and I've heard good things about it.  AA is too far for that weekend, and I'd be hitting the U of M course some way, somehow if I was going that direction.

Just looked online.  Further from the freeway than I thought.  Which isn't a problem, I just always thought BGSU's course was what you could see from the freeway.  Looks like a heckuva course.  What are the normal rates?  They have a golf now thing on the site right now, but that doesn't tell you much.  Can you walk or must you ride?

So it's either Stone Ridge, or is there any realistic way of getting onto Inverness?  I'd say those are my two choices..

That course along the highway is forest creason, it's an alright course. A couple of challenging holes but really kind of a boring course.

Also the U of M courses are pretty tough to get on, plus you need to go with an alumni or staff member.

I know about the U of M restrictions.  CPP and Cruisers are already aware of my interest on getting on, and will get bugged when I plan on being in the area..lol...

No shot like like that 18th hole tee shot where you see the tower in the distance, is there?  We'll try to get something together next summer.  Hopefully the wife is open to a side trip.  I think Briarwood Mall may be a good bribe...

Maumee Bay State Park is a nice links style track worth checking out. US Open qualifier course in the past.

Another fun muni in the area is Ottawa Park. Short course, but it's a nice layout with some cool history behind it.

Looked at Maumee Bay, and it looks nice, only concern is where we're staying Stone Ridge is quite convenient to.  Have to say I think Inverness is the only course that would get me to change my schedule....

Stone Ridge is fun can't go wrong with that one.  Pretty tough greens in the summer.

Posting here as well as the Ohio thread in case some avoid that thread.

Is anyone familiar with Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg?
