So I am going to get a Titleist 913 D2 for Christmas but unfortunately don't have the ability to get somewhere reliable to try all the shaft variations.  For the last couple of years I have used a 909 D Comp (9.5) with the made for Titleist Matrix Ozik X Con 5 (stiff) and it has provided a really good ball flight and distance.  So what I am hoping for from you guys is to get an idea of which shaft for the 913 would provide the most similar characteristics to the set-up I have now.  I believe what I have now would probably be considered mid to high launch and spin wouldn't it?

Also, a couple of months ago I hit my buddy's Ping I15 (9.5) with the Ping TFC 700d shaft (stiff) which provided really good launch (12-14) and spin numbers (around 3,000) for me. I have no idea how this head and shaft are considered on the launch/spin chart but something similar to this would be good as well.

I appreciate the information and help.

Sounds like you need the standard stock shaft.  Diamana S+ Blue 62 Stiff.

Thanks rocker.  What would this set up be characterized as on the spin/launch chart?

All the charts say mid launch but it seems like a mid-high launch and spin shaft.

Stetson, you feel like that's the right one given what has worked for me recently?

Get the S+ 62, if you don't like it sell it & buy a Phenom as they're usually cheaper than the S+

S is the new Blueboard, D is the new Whiteboard. D+ launched too low for me, and was amazed with the Phenom (60 AND 70). Between the S+ and D+ in launch and spin, and fantastically smooth.

How do the Ping I15 and 913 heads compare?  The I15 is considered low launch and spin correct?

The 913 is a touch more spin, but is "hotter" across a larger area (more forgiving).  I'd say the D+ is too stiff based on your past, the S+ and Phenom are both very smooth.  I felt the Phenom had better kick and felt more stable.  If you want a Diamana for the sake of having one then by all means do that, but I think across all the boards the reviews for the Phenom have been fantastic. I actually found the Phenom better then my AD-DI and got rid of the DI.  I suggested the Phenom because the S+ scares me, didn't feel stable enough when I need to swing a little harder

Thanks all for the great information guys....very helpful as always.  The Phenom and the S+ appear quite different with the Phenom being much lower spin and launch than the S+.  Is the 909 DComp head I have now a higher spin/launch head than the 913?  How does the Ozik X Con 5 shaft compare to the Phenom and S+?

The Phenom might be lower launch and spin but it is not a low launch/low spin shaft.  I believe the 913 is lower spin but not sure if it is different launch
