those are the originals... the vrs was modelled after these clubs.
question: were these built in japan or at the forge?

This set was assembled in Thailand. (ENDO Forgery}

The SQ's are more compact and have less offset compared to the VR S. Both set's are similar in design. But of course the SQ's have a much better feel & quality.

I have seen both the machspeeds from the forge and from japan ( not thailand)  
some stores up here received some early machspeeds protos
these were from the forge,( rumour was that they were indeed endo forgings and were assembled at the forge) and then from japan, although they had the japanese nomenclature, I couldnt confirm if they were actual endo forgings from japan or thailand.
