That Michael Collins hit it right on the head IMO....I don't use one but would never consider it cheating if another person did.

Reprehensible, but funnier than "Get in the hole!".

Unfortunately I agree.  Especially at the rowdier events.  The PGA tour is going to have to make a decision on whether or not they want to enforce the ban sooner for pro's then am's like the groove rule

I bet he putts just as well with a standard putter when he's forced to use one.  That'll shut everyone up.

Maybe it's just the microphone positions this week, but it seems like there are a ton (for such a small event) of yahoos there. Seemed more shots than not, there was a number of the boo-yaa! you-da-man! get-in! hollers.

Between now and whenever the ban finally comes into play on the PGA tour, Keegan and co will keep hearing this.
Agree with J13, think maybe the PGA should just bite the bullet sooner than later.

Ideally the pro-tours will continue to play under current rules, and the pros will continue to compete to their best ability within those rules. If that means that Keegan will continue to anchor his putter until the last day it is allowed, that is fine with me, and it is preferred by me. I sure hope that so-called "fans" of the outspoken variety won't have any say in the tour's policy.

I don't care about his putter choice, I do find him annoying to watch with all his twirls, step forward and backward and his evil eye when setting up his putt. He shouldn't be heckled, but it's going to stick even after the ban since he won a major with the anchoring.

Saw the Tiger's interview about it, I was a bit surprised by his comment.

Had it been in that era when he "couldn't miss a putt if he tried", he probably would have said: I really don't care what's in your bag.....I'm gonna beat you!

as dumb as the person is that heckled, its only going to get worse. i blame the USGA for banning something (which i agree with) buth then allowing it for 3 more years? they seriously messed that up.

Wait until there are larger crowds with more booze, and then add a guy whos in contention at a major two years from now using the anchor.

Still think the ban should go into place at the start of the '14 season in Oct '13 or ban at the start of Masters week. 2016????

I can honestly see spectators getting thrown out of tournaments for shouting "cheater."  I'm not kidding either.  I see the PGA Tour wanting to nip this in the bud.

Shouting dumb stuff (get in the hole, you the man, etc.) is just that--dumb.  But impugning the honesty of pros in a sport where honesty and playing by the rules is paramount--that's another thing altogether.

Part of me wants him to win just to further annoy the uneducated people that think he's cheating.

Spectators at pro sporting events say lots of horrible things. It's meaningless right? I don't see why this one remark has to be singled out. Unless the press is trying to stir the pot. But no, they wouldn't stoop that low would they.

Imagine if he wins a major next year with the Belly? The PGA is in New York and you know those guys don't hold back. I absolutely agree with others that all the Belly users have a huge target on their back now. You know if he does win a major among the first questions asked will be "do you feel that this will be looked at differently now that they've been banned" or something along those lines. Plus you'll have some players (Snedeker or Mcdowell maybe?) go all McCarron on people and say their wins are tainted if they do get any

If i was the tour i'd want the ban implemented immediately. But i don't think that will happen. If i was Keegan or Webb i'd probably want to get used to the short putter ASAP aswell

Didn't they do a living social or groupon sale for this tourney, something like $10 to attend?  That might explain a lot of the comments.

I don't know if it was singled out like you think, but probably reported due to its relevance vis a vis a recent rules change proposal.

you know, maybe, kind of sort of.

I thought it was funny when an announced called his putting stare-down "the stink eye."  KB has a lot of quirks, no doubt.  Maybe a heckle for those, but not the belly putter.

You can't harness a loudmouth idiot.  I hope he was thrown out.  Calc used the square grooves for years
and no one called him a cheater (I don't think).  It is a legal club at this time.

Yeah, his pre-shot routine should be banned. It's utterly ridiculous.
