Currently have a RIP Alpha in my Rbz Tour Driver. I have found a good deal on a new diamana d+ pull.. Just wondering how this shaft compares to the tip alpha... Anyone try the D+ Whiteboard ? Thoughts ?

Fairly similar profiles assuming they are the same weight. D+ should spin a bit lower and I would guess the launch would be similar.

You think it is a major upgrade, or about the same?

I think the two would be very similar, assuming they are in the same weight.

Last time I bought an Alpha, it was around $80. Seems like a wash to me unless you plan on re-selling the WB down the road or just want a WB.

I just wasn't sure if the whiteboard d+ is a big improvement to the rip alpha or if they are comparable ..

I find the rip launches a little lower than the D+, spin is similar but the D+ is so much smoother than the rip. Obviously feel is subjective but the rip plays boardy compared to the D+. I've got the D+ 72 stiff in my 913 D2 & its only early days yet but it's a very nice shaft to swing

Go with the D+. If anything, they will play similarly but the D+ will feel so much smoother than the alpha. I've played both and the RIP does perform well. I hit good balls with ideal numbers, but the feel is horrible. I think the D+ is much smoother while providing the same numbers. The RIP might be able to handle more aggressive players however.

Also at $89, you could replace the alpha and sell it for a profit.
