So, we are approaching that time of year again.   Mistletoe above the doorway, booze being guzzled, family being cursed at, and then at the end many golfers end up with disappointing golf gifts.   Lets change that for golfers this year, no more golf hats that I wont wear/cleaning kits, no more toilet putting greens, what is it that golfers want this year.

Lets hear it.

Throw up your suggestions for top golf gifts this year under $500.

That should include most clubs, rounds of golf, etc.  Im curious what you all come up with. '

Ready, set, go....

Clubs are way too individualized for me to suggest... same with golf balls...

Some suggestions:

Rangefinder / GPS
Personalized Golf Bag (bonus points if you give them a funny nickname)
Shoes
Headcover (alma mater, animal, something that matches the made up nickname you gave them)
Cold weather gear

If you really wanted to go crazy, a custom fitting at their brand of choice (or an independent club fitter for Miura / Wishon clubs)...

A round at the nicer courses in your area (Valhalla for me, thanks!)

Pretty sure if my relatives were ok spending anywhere near $500 on my golf gift I wouldn't have ended up with the ladies Nike golf balls I did last time.

You can get nearly anything for $500 or less.

My wife has the golf bug these days so I am planning on getting her a set of Jan Craigs and per her request a series of golf lessons.

Last year I picked her up a Odyssey Devine putter that she was raving about after paying a round with it at a store.  Then I took her to get fitted for a new set of irons (which turned into new irons, driver, and a hybrid)

Well I got the best, most unexpected gift last year, a trip to Pebble (even though I paid for it myself, it was at least guilt free), so this year can't ask for or expect too much. I just got my pair of Addidas PureMotions, so don't need any shoes. Closets are full of shirts and pullovers, so don't need any clothes. At least three sets of clubs and half dozen bags, so I certainly don't need any equipment......

So, since I don't need anything.....gift cards are always great, but since my family doesn't think they are personal enough, I could use...

...a 913 Driver (would be ok with any of their shafts, I'll use the one out of my 910)

...an upgrade to the SkyCaddie SGX (wife has bought the first two ((2.5 &5)) for Christmas, so an upgrade here would keep the tradition.

Thats about all I can think of. It must be incredibly difficult to buy gifts for the golf 'ho in your life, since they(we) normally go out and buy what they need/want whenever the urge moves them. And usually have way more stuff than will ever be needed.
Titleist 910D2 8.5* Diamana D+
Titleist 910F 15* GD YSQ
Titleist 910H 17* Diamana Kai'li 80

I'd be super happy with greens fees at courses in other parts of my state (New Mexico), with maybe an overnight stay there.  Or a dozen of my favorite brand of golf balls always works...Bridgestone e6's.  I'm easy!  I'd also be happy with gift certificates to a good pro shop.
