Last event of the European Tour season. Rory has already won the Race to Dubai, but if he manage to win this he can break the record for biggest win in a year (previous was Tiger in 2007 I think), let's see!

Man that pic gave me one hell of a fright as I scrolled down.

GO GARCIA (I think he is playing?)

He is. Go Garcia

Looking forward to this. Though not 100% sold on the course being grand enough for such a finale.

Apart from the 18th which I think is a bit OTT, the Earth Course is an awesome place and a true test. Considerably better than the course where they play the Dubai Desert Classic, which is a goat track IMO.

Rory totally out of sorts on the front nine still turns -1, and somehow bogey free, due to immaculate short game.  5 under on the back nine was about as bad as he could have been despite still not looking like he was totally in control of his game.  Having said that, Donald was sublime, the only surprise was that he isn't lower.  When he plays like this he makes golf look ridiculously easy.

....luke donald's last 3 tournament rounds at dubai has been 66-66-65 (-19)....19 birdies and no bogeys!!

matteo just shot 67(-5) today so i think he just had a bad day yesterday...

rory about to go -2 after 3 holes for the day and -8 overall if he makes his 6-footer on no.3...(he just did!!)

sergio shoots -8(64) with a triple and 2 eagles!!...after 73 yesterday..

..i think we'll see some really low scores today...

luke is -8 and -1 after 2 holes..

rory, luke and warren all tied for the lead at -11...

plenty of guys within 4-5 strokes!!--about 20!!--lowest score was still sergio's -8 (64) but danny willet had a 29 on the back but 36 on the front..

lots of 65s, 66s and 67s today....

....should be an exciting shoot-out this weekend!!

Rory and Luke leading on -11 along with Marc Warren.  Interestingly, given comments on other threads about how Donald suffers on long courses, Rory was one ahead playing the 620 yard 18th, and made par to Luke's birdie.  Theres a good looking leaderboard with the likes of Oosthuizen and Schwarzel one shot back, and Hanson, Rose, Colsaert, Stenson, Kaymer and Garcia all within four of the leaders.  In fact there are 29 players within 5, so should be an excellent weekend.

...even though the world's no. 1 and 2 are leading there are so many excellent prayers behind them that this is still anybody's tournament..

the course was shortened today--no. 18 by about 100 yards!--and if they keep it that way the winning score will be -20+ for sure....

PS.....luke donald still hasn't made a bogey in his last 4 rounds in Dubai!!

World #1 and #2 battling it out on the weekend would be a great way to finish the season. So many world class guys just a few back though.

Sergio's round was crazy. Tying the course record with a triple bogey? Nuts.

I had a brief encounter with Larrazabal at either the 2009 or 2010 Irish Open. He was either after a few drinks or else just in a really good mood, constant laughing at random things. He was out watching McIlroy's group with his caddie in the afternoon after playing himself in the morning. Seems like a fun guy to be around

Tournament bubbling up nicely for the weekend. Rory not on his 'A' game but still hugely impressive. Interesting to hear his interview saying he started to test Nike gear after the Ryder Cup and he pretty much has the woods and irons sorted already, just the ball left to dial-in. Also worth noting Marc Warren already using the new red Nike driver with a blue and white Graphite Design shaft.

McIlroy taking a good look at Marc Warrens new nike driver walking off the 7th tee.

Schwartzel pretty much lipped out a shot for an albatross and sarcastically threw his club in disgust :taunt:

I saw the promo of Molinari's win in August, he was using an obvious proto of the covert driver. I paused and took a photo but was too blurry to post.. Plus almost every Nike staff player is using it already.
