I bought a few of the Polo RLX shirts, because I really loved the fit.  The problem is after only a few washing even on delicate the are really showing a lot of wear and pilling.  I was really hoping that I had found a great shirt, but the quality is just not there.  I would not mind it if they were not as pricey, but at 75+ a shirt I cannot justify it.  I even sent a note to Polo, but no response at all.  I would have hoped for at least some sort of response but nothing.  I just wanted to let other Wrx'ers now if they were considering picking any up.

I have a closet for of RLX shorts, shirt, sweaters and pants,  This is just about all that I purchase and have never had any issues.

I wonder if it was just this run of clothes.  I am hoping so, because I love the fit.

I have 4 polos and haven't had any problems. Fit and feel are great and I picked them all up at the outlet so they were all under $20. Just curious which shirts did u buy?

It was just the standard RLX shirts just like Luke Donald wears, not sure of the name or style.

I have about 5 RLX shirts, 3 different shirt models/types - none of which I've ever had this issue with.  What part of the shirt is the pilling happening?

I am almost positive that you purchased one of the cotton/poly shirts or spun poly shirts, most likely made with Optimer's dri-release fiber. If so, it's going to pill and pill extensively. They feel great on the shelf, but after a couple of launders, the fibers will break and form pill balls. Does it have a soft luxurious hand or a techy hand on the shirt?

Continuous filament polyester doesn't pill (techy polyester feeling shirts) because the fibers are well, continuous. One long yarn. The downfall for these shirts sometimes is the filaments will grab on something and create a "pull" in the shirt.

Nothing you will be able to do about the pulling unfortunately.

I also have five RLX polos and aim to get more as they're the most comfortable, best fitting polos I have EVER worn (besides being classy). None of mine have had any issues at all!

Just made the switch from wearing nothing but Puma to Polo/RLX shirts/shorts.  I really like the way these shirts look and feel.  Not crazy about the prices though but anything with RLX bears that heavy tag.  I hope I do not have any issues with these shirts pilling post wash.

I started buying them last summer and have gradually built up a collection and as long as you wash them as per the instructions they stay in great shape, also have a few pairs of shorts and trousers now which are also easy to wash and stay as originally purchased, unlike some Lacoste stuff I've had

I love all of my RLX shirts.  Mine have actually started fading due to the amount of times I have worn them.  They are my favorite shirts and love wearing them.

I love the fit and style of the line.
What is the best place for finding RLX at decent prices?

Did you go up in size for the RLX line?

No need for me, in fact I find the medium size to be quite roomy but they are so well cut that they aren't snug in the body but also not baggy under the arms. The shorts and trousers fit true to size, so if you fit a 32 in Levi's then a 32 is good in RLX

I wish.  The only places I found these at were TrendyGolf and the Ralph Lauren website, and they were all very high!  The ones listed on eBay look like total fakes to me.

agree on the great fit of the RLX polos, nicely form-fitting without being too constricting. I have 2 now and will be getting more.

to the OP, i hang dry and have never seen pilling, do you machine dry?

I have maybe 5-6 RLX shirts, all purchased at my local TJ Maxx for about half price. They usually start stocking them in March here in Georgia, and they go pretty quick.

I actually had this issue, with the poly shirts, not the cotton. I sent them back and they sent me a giftcard. Great customer service!

That looks good to me but I do not buy apparel off of eBay.  If its a fake you can always get your $$$ back through PayPal.
