I generally go 1/2" on 3W, 3/4" on 4W, 1" on 5W. If you like it tip stiff then go with the full 1". Don't go past that. If you do 3/4" and need more you can always pull it and go the extra 1/4". The tip on this shaft is the stiffest part of the shaft so if you tip it too much you will actually start to lose tip strength and it will have the opposite effect of more spin. The Phenom is tip stiff and butt stiff so if you cut the tip stiffeness out you end up with a lower kick point and more spin, possibly lower launch though.
I see you play X in the wood and S300's in the irons? If you are in between flexes maybe no tipping on 3W, 1/4-1/2" on 4w and 1/2-3/4" on the 5W.

The S300's are hardstepped once, even though I didn't indicate that. Not between flexes, as my 3 woods all have X-flex. The NV in the 13* Nike SQ in my bag right now has unknown tipping (bought it used, refinished the head and tried the shaft in it. Loved it, so I didn't touch it, even though I bought a shaft to put in it upon purchasing it, but figured I'd try the shaft that was in it).
