Who can compare the GD DI series vs the G Series?  Looks like performance wise they are close per Titleist.

I currently have drivers with AD DI5, DJ5, and a G50. All of them are shafted in the same loft and manufacturers driver head. The G series launches higher for me, but, I actually hit it a little further due to more carry. Similar amount of roll with all three. Unless you have trouble with hitting the ball too high I'd say the G series could be a money saver. The DI & DJ provide better control and feel.

I guess you could call the G-series a poor mans DI.  Both launched similarly with the G-series seeming to spin just a bit more.  The big difference is the feel - the DI has a stable yet smooth feel whereas the G-series feels stable but more harsh.  Don't get me wrong, the G's aren't like hitting rebar....they just aren't as smooth as the DI.  I want to say Golfsmith or Golfworks had some the G-series shafts on sale recently so you may want to check...definitely worth a look if you are looking to save some $$$.

These tour only YSQ-st shafts are the $18 BO poor man's DI IMHO.  I love this shaft too.

Miyazaki international flex codes for the two ranges show reasonable differences between the designs. The G60 Stiff and the DI 6 firm have the most similar profiles.

Miyazaki (IFC)
Tour AD DI6 RS 64 Mid (4 4 3 4)
Tour AD DI6 S 68 3.1 Mid (6 5 4 7)
G50 S 61 3.9 Mid/High (4 4 5 1)
G60 S 68 3.3 Mid (4 5 5 3)

The G series is more like the poor mans Oban Revenge. Softer butt, softer tip, firm mid section. For smooth swingers who want some height for maximum carry.

G series is much higher launch and spin for me. It's a good shaft but not like the DI. DI has a more consistent ball flight from my experience.
