Like a lot of people on here I'd like my shafts aligned but don't want to pay. Here's what I do. Go to ace hardware and buy 2 bearing with a big enough inside diameter to fit the butt of the shaft in and another for the tip of the shaft. Then check the plumbing isle for a pipe that those bearing fit in pretty close. Posted Image

Put the pipe in a vise, set the bearings in there, Aline my shafts and return everything to ace hardware in less than an hour and get my money back. I know ill get crap about returning the stuff but whatever lol. If you want to keep everything it's 50$.

I like where you're going here but why not just hang out at the range until someone with nice clubs leaves their bag unattended. No guarantee they'll be spine aligned of course but hey, it's still a win/win.

Just keep the stuff dude, it's not that expensive...

That aside, I have used this same method before and it works very well.

It's about the oscillating action(s).

That'll be $50.00

There's videos on YouTube. If you put a shaft in there and put some pressure on it you'll find the nbp easy. That set I did every shaft went straight to it except one shaft had two point and one was noticably more stable so I picked it

i built one of those a while back.  Works very well, but I really saw no benefit from having the shafts aligned.

For those asking, every shaft has a spine that causes it to bend differently depending on the direction of force.  When you put the shaft in this device and pull down on it, it flips itself into the same position every time.  You mark the shaft on this plane (called the neutral bend point), then you can either install it with the NBP directly pointing towards or away from the target (depending on which school of thought you subscribe to) and in theory the club will bend on the correct plane when swinging it.  Essentially you're telling the shaft to behave properly by overcoming the limitations of manufacturing.  In theory, if it's not spined, you could not have perfect bend.  Graphite shafts even have multiple spines.

It's a debatable thing, especially considering it requires that your swing is the exact same every time.  Some guys swear by it, while others like myself really saw nothing from it.

I don't understand the thought behind returning everything though.  How would you like it if someone bought a club off of you, used it for a round, cleaned it up, then returned it for a full refund.  Hopefully you end up in a field where you realize the error of your ways.

Be gone, thief. You've  made it so that if you try to buy anything off BST, nobody will trust you, period, end of story. Shows you have absolutely no character, morals or ethics in the least.

Sucks to be you.

You mention graphite shafts have multiple spines. Is that for all graphite shafts? In that case if there are multiple spines is it worth the effort of getting it spine aligned for your driver and woods?

Also if you have a stiff iron shaft. I play PX6.5 flighted. Should I even bother?

BTW I wouldn't attempt this myself and return the parts. lol I would get it proffesionally done.

But is it worth it in my case? Or can I save that money for another new toy?

That system in NO WAY finds NBP ... it will likely identify residual bend.

& you should be ashamed of yourself ... nothing like advertising in public, that you're a thief.

I missed this part! Yes, you deserve the crap!

For those that do not think it's worth using this tool to spine shafts, I suggest marking the spined shaft and placing it on a deflection board. Take two readings with the mark in two different places. You will find that the shaft measures two different stiffnesses!

So you rent the items from your local Ace Hardware and they get no restocking fee? And you do this multiple times? Not only are your actions deplorable, but the staff at your local Ace Hardware are oblivious to what they're allowing you to do. Wow...

Welcome to the blocked list for buyers/sellers. I'd hate to ship you a club and you not like it after using it and sending it back demanding a refund.

It's static and hardly of any value, according to most professional fitters and clubmakers.   I wouldn't even know where to find a deflection board ... an antique shop, perhaps?
