My wife and I are big on the whole concept of pay it forward - especially this time of year.  So after seeing the Pay It Forward posts on BST, I decided to upgrade an entire set for someone who impressed the hell out of me.  Doing it has been tough because all I know is he finally broke 90 - so I'm sticking with standard/stock/non-adjustable everything.  Between my extras and the used bin at a local golf shop, I'm 95% done - a4R irons (my old set), V-Steel woods (steal at $18 each), Adams a7 hybrid (could never hit it), Vokey 09 SM, Scotty SS Newport (my old putter).  However, I'm stuck on a driver.  I started to look at the typical suspects - F11, R9, etc.  But I started reading about the 909D2 on here last night and although I'm not familiar with Titleist drivers, that might work (plus he's a Webb fan).  Anyway, I need some suggestions on a driver for him.

909D2 would likely be a great decision.  The 909 is a great driver.  Many guys didn't give it up in favor of the 910.  Excluding the 913, it's probably one of the 3 best drivers Titleist has released.  The D2 is more or less the midrange and should be the right fit for someone who shoots in the mid 90's.  The D3 is less forgiving and has a lower launch.  There is also a 909DComp which I believe was a high launch, more forgiving driver.

For someone just breaking 90, I would think TM Burner, TM RBZ, Ping G10/15. I have seen a good number in the used racks. Hardest thing might be figuring out the loft, but I would err higher say 10.5-12 degrees if his swing and flight pattern are unknown.
