I just bought a Titleist 913 9.5 D3 and I went with the Aldila RIP Phenom over the D. Who else is playing the Aldila Phenom and how do you like it so far? I went with the Phenom because it is right in the middle of the D+ white and the S+ blue.

Which weight did you get in the Phenom?  The 60 or 70?  Whats your swingspeed?

I got 70. I like my driver on the heavier side so I want to get a weight for my head that's a little heavier as well. I don't know my swing swing exactly but if I had to take a guess I would say 105-110.

The Phenom was the clear favorite both in trajectory and feel for me. I would love to try something like a Stiff tipped 1" or the 60X, but both the 60 and 70 were amazing!

I really liked the Phenom, I went with the 70 version as well.  I have since gone on the course switching out my DI6x and the Phenom; the DI6 didn't feel nearly as stable throughout the swing to me, I attributed it to the light weight.  But regardless, the Phenom felt belt and gave me a better flight.  So much so that I placed my DI6 in the classifieds here on WRX and have made a trade for a Speeder 7.2 TS.  I figure the Phenom is very solid, why not experiment some!

Did you have to find a demo day or a certain store that carries the RIP Phenom 60?  I went to two stores and they only had the RIP Phenom 70.

I think the 60 is custom order and the 70 is a stock offering. Check titleist.com and it will tell you. I beleive I only saw 70's at the store I went to

The 60 is custom order, but I went to a VIP Titleist event at my local Golfsmith on the first day and they had the Phenom 60S as well as about 30-40 other shafts. Really really good selection, and every head available in EVERYTHING.

Hit my 913 w. phenom 70 stiff and the flight couldn't be any better.

I ordered my D2 stiff with the S+ tipped 1/2, felt good and hit it descent but was just a bit light for what I'm used to and seemed to be more fade oriented for me.
I bought a new Titleist Rip Phenom 70 stiff from a trusted seller. I am happy to report the feel and performance were really good for me.  The Phenom is very underrated and is perhaps best of the stock offereings for many golfers especially with the smoother swingers, I could really feel the shaft kick at impact with the flight just perfect.

I have a smooth swing as well and I agree with your above comments. It seems like most people are going with the diamana offerings, but I have to say I am very happy titleist removed the project x for the phenom. I think that was a great call on their part

^ Completely agree. I always thought the PX felt harsh, and this shaft is incredibly smooth and wonderful. If/when I get one, it will definitely be with the Phenom.

Am I being greedy?  Was so impressed with the 70 phenom I'm wondering what the 60 would do for me.  Again my swingspeed is 98 to 102 or so with a smooth tempo.  Anyone try both weights in stiff and have impressions?

You can never be too greedy if you have room for improvement. If you can test the 60 go for it and basically see of it outperforms the 70. For me I like a heavier shaft and driver so 70 is perfect. Dispersion is very important not just distance.

The Phenom 70 is just point and shoot for me but I am concerned that I am not getting quite enough launch but may wait until next year to mess with a good thing. Our golf season here in Indiana is winding down and the temp has been a little cool to really get some concrete experience with the head shaft combo.
