On Monday I played in the Nor Cal Oakley Pro am with the project 5.  The bad news is it was cool, pretty windy and the greens had recently been punched.  Because of the punched greens I can't really give the ball a full review at this time.  But what I can say is the ball played great in wind!  I was also very happy with the feel of the ball off the clubface.  I am really looking forward to finding out how they react on proper greens, and putt.
Zach

I had heard this ball was great in the wind.

Can't wait to give this "Mel Gibson" ball a try.
I found it VERY stable in the wind and long in the cold too. You can tell this layering thing is really being perfected...BB

This site is great. No one here can break 85 and everyone can feel the difference in golf balls and see the difference going through the wind..... They had Ben crane test balls with headphones on blasted with music and he could not tell a difference between a prov1 and a pinnalcle. Its all in your ears and head.

I only know this because I talked to the guys at TPI.... Do u need any more confirmation? The guys who do everything equipment related with Ben crane. Golf balls can't be felt. It's just based on sound. And no one on this site can tell how it goes through the wind. Can't even make the same swing twice

Looks like a scratch golfer to me. And was Crane hitting drivers or chipping? I bet he could tell a difference if he was chipping/putting, that's where the biggest differences are anyway.

If he was just blasting drivers out there...there could be some merit to the argument. I would think the pinnacle would feel a bit harder, but considering he is a professional golfer, I have a feeling he catches the center of the clubface a bit more often than we do.

actually, i'm a scratch golfer (you can pm if u want to see my handicap offical index). And seriously you must be 20 handicap to do not notice any difference when u hit a pinnacle instead of a prov1. Yes u can not notice any difference when you try pentatp5 vs prov1 or B330 but seriously a pinnacle... If u can't see a difference not my fault but I can.

Sure. It's based on sound. We all know that. Thanks for the 1981 update. And it was originally done with Ray Floyd, but judging by your posts, he was WAY before your time. You know what else? You can't make a firm ball sound soft. So there's that. And I promise you he could tell a difference with something other than driver when he hit into a green. I don't have to ask the TPI guys--my years on the van tell me what the pros feel and see.  As for the same swing twice? Well, speak for yourself, easy money.

ok whatever but you're telling me you're able to tell a difference between this new project 5 ball with its launch and spin in the wind??

of course I can tell a difference when I hit a pinnacle and prov1 or pentas, but trust me if you blasted loud music and hit balls you wouldn't tell a difference either...
