Just counted my 86th round this year.  Pretty solid for a Canadian golf season.   (usually April 1 to Oct 31).  That is a record for me .. and I had an awful 5 week stretch where I barely played due to back issues

I started thinking of the ups and downs from the past season and how some days golf feels so easy (like yesterday where a +3 only got me by four shots) and others where you can't find the face of the club or the fairway (or the rough for that matter)

Our provincial computer logged some stats that were interesting:

Low Score 69, High 92 .. can anyone beat 23 strokes?  To be fair the 69 was a PB and the 92 was at the Old Course in a GALE

Index low, 2.2, high 6.4

Mostly I played off a 3 to 5 hdcp this year but was initially surprised by width of the fluctuations.   .

Interestingly though, I looked at the line graphs for my index movement over the last 8 yrs and they are pretty darn close.  A big dip down in July and August followed by a slow climb once the leaves start falling

Golf sure is a game of highs and lows

Low: 82 - Only 1 OB, a couple of 3 putts and some pulled approaches
High: Stopped counting after 110 - Multiple OB's on multiple tees, lost balls that should have been easy to find, grounding the club in a bunker, three and four putts. Safe to say everything went bad that day.

73-86 with index of 1.8-4.5.  Had some back issues in June and a little golfer elbow in May and haven't been able to play enough to get my cap back down to where I want it.  Hopefully next year I will be able to hold onto an index of less than 3 for the entire season.

Low-73
High-95

Handicap is 8-10 range.

My goal this year was to have no scores in the 90s and failed that twice.  The 95 came on a narrow mountainside course where everything left/right was a hazard.  All in all it was a good year.  My scoring average came down and I think I was more consistent this year.

The one strong point of my game is that I'm boringly consistent.  My high was 81, my low was 70.  But 85% of my scores fall between 74-78.

nice ... I was 86 at Carnoustie in 35mph winds .. and actually had a great start over the first 5 holes
Hogan's Alley directly into a big wind started the unravelling

Every one of my rounds was in the 80s, low of 81 and a high of 88, granted that is only 15 rounds.  Index of 9.3.  I guess its due to not playing in much variety of courses and conditions?

Low- 62
High- I think it was 79. I can't pull up my Ghin right now.
Index- during the season it was a +3. Lowest was a +5. Right now its probably a 0 since I haven't played in three months.

Apparently I'm the only sucky player not too embarrassed to post my numbers...  haha!

92 (best round of the year!) - 110+ (at The Prince Course)

HCP 29.1 - 30

Stil hoping to break 90 before Christmas...  then I get to buy new irons... and learn how to hit those...  logical, right?

FWIW, my lowest differential in 2012 was 2.0 and the highest was 16.6 (with an astounding 42 putts). My index mostly bumped around in the 5 to 7 range.

Posted this in another thread actually, but anyways on back to back days I had my best and worst scores of the year :-S

Lowest score: +6, 78 on August 17th at Half Moon Bay Ocean Course
Highest score: +26, 98 on August 18th at Bayonet

Lowest index: 10.5 on 11/15
Highest index: 16.6 on 05/01

Going to Bandon tomorrow... may need to update my highest score next week and have most likely seen my lowest index of the year.
Played 70ish rounds so far.
