And I got the difference back in shipping through the claim, for those interested, which was $5 and some change.

so... no more whining?

I like both of you guys just fine, so I'm not gonna pick sides...but Rookie, what if someone ships you an item only charging you the bare minimum and it arrives damaged or gets lost?  They charged you the shipping you wanted, but didn't get insurance on it.  Do you adjust for someone buying insurance, do you expect the seller to make that his expense, or what?  Just curious.

I always add insurance unless it's something I can pay out of pocket if something happens and I don't recall any item I've shipped being under $10 no matter where it's going (I know it's a bit cheaper online).

I don't see why people get all bent out of shape with shipping charges, you paid $43 dollars for the club. What does it matter if it was $1 for the club and $42 for shipping. If you have to have it on a specific date you probably shouldn't be shopping on ebay.

I always ship insured, unless it's equipment that has a cost I wouldnt care if I Had to pay out of my pocket (typically $100 or less)and always Priority mail (although there's NO guarantee from USPS that priority will arrive any sooner than parcel).

Shipping and handling cost are just part of doing business (or "overhead" cost , if you will).

Now I received a used RBZ fairway the other day that was simply tossed in a box and the ends taped shut.  No headcover, no bubble wrap, no paper, nothing, just a club flopping around in a box.  Seller was LUCKY!

I add insurance if the item is over $100.  If someone ships me something, and it arrives damaged (never had that happen, though I've seen several sketchy packing jobs), I'd expect they'd be fine refunding me and me paying return shipping.  If it gets lost, it's still the seller's responsibility (as it would be mine were I selling something and it gets lost) until the item is delivered.  I always make insurance optional on my eBay auctions for items I know will be under $100.  for items over, I usually start it at the minimum I'd take for it including insurance and shipping and specify in my listing that the item will be shipped USPS Priority and Insured and use the Free Shipping option for that listing.  I also make sure items over $200 will also have signature confirmation on them, which I also specify in my listings.

As for Albatrosser's posts, I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you, because honestly, you're not worth my time.  I'll leave it with saying sorry you're still butt hurt I called your friend a theif and a liar because he stole from members on here on the BST.  And I'm sorry I value my word and integrity.

So did you get the difference from what it cost and what they charged you? You said before that it was 15 cents difference between Priority and parcel. Could you go into more detail what the decission was based on. If PP is deciding on the difference of actual shipping costs and what is charged it sure does open up alot of disputes. I never paid just actual shipping costs on anything I ever bought on Ebay.
