Just wondering what the average length of 6 Irons out there.

I got fit into a 38 inch 6 iron but after hitting my Son's Nike Junior set where his 7 iron is probably 30 inches and striping it 160 yards got me thinking that maybe i was fitted wrong or maybe my swing and compression is a lot better with a shorter club. Im not saying that I want to cut all my irons 8 inches but maybe my 6 to 37 which is .50 under titleist standard length.

Anyone getting better results with shorter clubs ?

37.5 inch 6 iron

Mine are standard Mizuno lengths, which are 37.75" 5 iron and 37.25" 6 iron. Seems to work well for me!

this probably won't help you.. but i'm 6'5 and my 6 iron is 39"

Im 5'8" play 6 at 37" 5 and 4 @ 37.5"

I'm about 6' tall, use a 37½" 6 iron.

Adams A4 37.875" 6 iron

my height: 5'6, Wrist to floor: 32.5
J33 6i: 37.25,  32*,  carries 170ish
a4 forged 6i: about 37.75, 29*,  carries 180ish

J33's are my summer summer set and a4 are my winter, cold and wet weather set. Though they both say "6" they are very much different clubs. I am much more accurate with my j33s due to the shorter club length and weaker lofts. There are something about the Adams face where there is a hot spot that puts an extra 10ish yards of carry so my distances are inconsistent.

Mine is a R9  at 38.25 (ordered an 1" over as I'm 6'5")

it's 3* stronger than your other 6i, which probably explains the 10 yards.

anywho, my 6i is 37.5" (standard), though my fitting numbers for the 6i are 38.31".

My 6 iron is 37.5", 31* at D2, it carries 160-168, and I am 60+ and 5'10.  Cutting shafts drops SW dramatically.  I can't imagine what the SW is of a 30" 7 iron; mid C's???

Right! I expect the full club difference but there is something about the A4 face that when I strike the ball It just goes and I somehow get an extra 10ish yds of carry. It can be a bit troublesome if you are relying on a specific distance from a particular club.

Got my clubs cut down to 6 Iron 37.5 and swingweight D4

My carry is the same @184 and the accuracy is unreal.

Cut down my Driver a shade under 45 and it is stupid easy to hit fairways. (for some reason my driver was over 46" directly ordered from callaway with a Tour AD DI and thought when telling them standard that it would come in @45)
