I don't think it's likely, but it is entirely possible. Nothing saying he can't bag another wgc, or yet another BMW PGA, which carries more owgr points.

I am totally fine with it. The owgr sometimes gets muddled (rightly so) between the #1 in the last 2 years, and the #1 of current golfers. And I understand that, because that's how our brains work. But I think people should really try harder to separate the two. The system creators realize that Majors are the most important, so they put a premium on those with points

TW Has 14 majors. With that said if he were to be #1 at the end of 2013 and still hasn't won a major since 08 and you asked me "who would you bet on to win a major" my answer would not be TW.
To me being ranked #1 is like being the Heavy Weight Champion. If you get to #1 without winning a major it's like you got the belt because the prior champ retired, rather than beating him.

Duly noted....but that's not what I'm asking you. What I asked you was...If Tiger woods got back to #1 without winning a major in the current 2 year OWGR cycle, would you be okay with that?
I would be, and I'll say again that people need to try harder to separate the OWGR, with active career ranking, or all time ranking, because they are 2 totally different things.

I would not consider him the best player in the world if he does not win a major in '13 regardless of his OWGR, active career, NHRA, NBA, NLCS or PBA ranking,

Spot on. The OWGR recognizes how a golfer has played over the past two years. A victory from ten years ago is nice, but it is not an indicator of how they are playing now.

This 1 million times over. Taking some people's logic the World Rankings should still have Nicklaus at #1.

#1 McIlroy 7 (2 majors)
#2 Donald 7 (1 WGC - 2 BMWs)
#3 Woods 4

If he does that again, more power to him and he'll have deserved it. I doubt he'll be able to jump Rory without winning a major or two though.

Is that even mathematically possible with McIlroy's lead being more than 3.5 avg points at the moment?
I would be surprised if it were.
